How To Make Blueberry Smoothie Recipe
Gather all of the ingredients and place them in your preferred blender.
For this recipe, I used my Vitamix to make this recipe.
Place all of the ingredients in the Vitamix, start blending at the lowest speed then gradually increase the speed to the highest speed. Blend for 45-50 seconds or a little longer to make sure all of the fruits are blended.
Serve cold. Enjoy!

Save time in the morning: I suggest saving time in the morning by freeze the blueberries and banana beforehand and measuring out the ingredients the night before.
Make it tangy: If you’d like to balance the sweetness with a little tanginess, add the juice from 1/4 of a lime.
Add more protein: Use Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt for a boost in protein. Alternatively. add a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder to add a boost of protein.
Add some fats: Add a serving of peanut butter or almond butter for a boost in fats. Note that peanut butter will slightly change the flavor. Alternatively, add a serving of coconut oil or avocado.
Blender: While youll get the smoothest smoothie with a high-speed blender, you can get pretty close with a standard blender by blending the blueberries and milk first, before adding any of the other ingredients. You may also need to blend for a minute longer.
Skip the banana: If youre not a fan of bananas, sweeten the smoothie with honey, maple syrup, dates, or another choice of sweetener.
Adjust the thickness: If youd prefer a thinner smoothie, add in more almond milk. For a thicker smoothie, add a few more ice cubes.

Rinse berries and allow them to soften.
Add milk and berries to the blender.
Pulse in 30-second increments until desired consistency
Optionally, add honey, flaxseed, hemp hearts, and/or oats.
While frozen berries leave you with an even colder beverage, you can easily use fresh berries if available, ripe, and on hand. Rinse your berries well, and if using frozen let them stand for a few minutes to soften slightly.
We have a Ninja and don’t have to let them soften at all. The softer they are, the smoother and creamier your milk will be. Frozen berries, unthawed, turn into more of a smoothie than milk.

How To Make A Blueberry Banana Smoothie

Frozen blueberries are also one of my favorite fruits to keep on hand for smoothies!
To make this smoothie, add the frozen bananas, frozen blueberries, almond butter, flax seed, and almond milk to a high speed blender.
Blend until thick and creamy.
I purposefully used as little liquid as possible in this smoothie, as I wanted that nice thick consistency.
If you do not have a high powered blender, or want a thinner smoothie, add more almond milk to taste.

- This smoothie can be adapted based on the season. If you cant find fresh strawberries, feel free to use frozen strawberries.

Blackberry Almond Milk Smoothie
This really only requires two simple ingredients, but as you can see, there are a lot of options to make this even better. For extra fiber, I throw in a bit of oatmeal. For extra antioxidants and richness, hemp hearts or flaxseed can be added.
Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to keep it a truly healthy breakfast drink. It can also be made with cashew or hemp milk, which are my favorites. The kids prefer almond milk though, so I make theirs with unsweetened almond milk in the blender and do my own in the single-serve blender cup.

- I recently purchased a new high-powered blender and absolutely love it .
- You do not need a high-dollar blender to make this strawberry blueberry smoothie. If you use a high powered blender , your smoothie will have a finer, more even consistency, but you can certainly make this recipe in a regular blender too. If your smoothie is too thick to blend, add more almond milk .
- I owned this more economical option for a while. While it doesnt get things as smooth as quickly as a high-powered blender or come with the same bells and whistles, its a good option for the price.
- I sip my smoothies through these stainless steel straws. They make everything you drink through them from smoothies, to iced tea or iced coffee, to even water taste extra refreshing. I also keep a few in my purse for when Im out and about, so I dont need to ask for a plastic or paper straw.

How To Easily Clean A Blender
Did you know that blenders practically clean themselves? I recommend doing this right after you pour your smoothie into a glass. If you let the blender sit and dry, the fruit will become stuck on and stubborn.
- Fill with Water Fill your dirty blender about half full with warm water.
- Add Dish Soap Add just a couple drops of dish soap to the water.
- Blend Close the lid on the blender and blend for about 30 seconds. The warm soapy water will swish up the sides.
- Rinse Finally just dump out the soapy water, give the blender a rinse with warm water, and thats it!

Okay! I have a confession to make… while most people are addicted to their morning coffee. I’m addicted to my Blueberry, Pear and Almond Smoothie. Talk about honest to God goodness… I would have to say that this is it.
I remember watching my friend Casey for years, throw back some strong green drinks in the morning before we’d go to work. Just trying to figure out how she could like something that smelled so horrible. Not to mention that it looked greener than grass and honestly in my opinion was a horrible tasting drink.
