How Can I Make My Smoothie Sweeter

Cantaloupe is a naturally sweet fruit, which is why its such a great addition to smoothies. However, if your cantaloupe is not quite ripe, it wont have developed its full sweetness which will detract from the taste of your smoothie.

To spot a ripe cantaloupe, look for beige or sandy yellow skin rather than green, and webbing that appears as strong raised ridges.

Cantaloupes will not continue to ripen once theyve been cut open, so its good to be able to spot a ripe one when you pick it out at the supermarket.

With that being said, if your smoothie is not as sweet as you like, an extra teaspoon of honey blended into it will add a hint of sweetness without anything artificial.

Alternatively, adding in some other sweet fruit like banana or pineapple will do the trick.
