    My 11 year olds son whole diet consists of inflammatory foods! The only fruit he will eat is red grapes but absolutely no veggies! I never forced my kids to eat foods and I feel thats where I failed in my parenting journey. My older 2 will eat anything, so I followed the same way with my youngest. Didnt work so well! He was a great eater until he turned 2. I made all of his baby food from real food and breast fed him until he was 3.5!

    Be Sneaky If You Have To

    There is no full disclosure requirement when it comes to what you serve your kids to eat. Grab a blender and use this to your advantage. You can hide a crazy amount of healthy goodness in a marinara sauce. Think lentils, sweet potato, bell peppers, greens and more. Dice them up nice and small and simmer in your favourite marinara sauce. If you think theyll notice the change in texture, just puree it up and serve with a smile. Not that crazy, twitchy smile that screams Ive just hidden 42 vegetables in this sauce and I dare you to notice. They will smell you coming a mile away. Play it cool, act natural, you got this.

    The same goes for smoothies. You can fill them with greens, fruits, seeds, nut butter, veggies, whatever. Anything goes, really. Just keep an eye on proportions so it will still taste good. Use some nice and ripe bananas for sweetness. This will help cover up the flavour of the greens. Throw in some flax, hemp or chia seeds for some omega-3 fats and blend it all up. If your smoothie comes out green and your child is likely to balk at the colour, throw some cocoa powder in there and make it a chocolate smoothie.     Often times my kids prefer to eat their smoothies with a spoon. You can make any smoothie recipe into a smoothie bowl by adding less milk or other liquid in the recipe. Just add a little liquid add a time until you get your desired thickness. You can also add a handful of ice to make a smoothie more frosty and thick. This recipe is a really unique combo of flavors and ingredients. If you have any leftover cooked sweet potato, this is a great smoothie to whip up. Dragon fruit gives this smoothie that beautiful bright pink color. You can find frozen dragon fruit in many grocery stores these days, but you can substitute frozen berries if youd prefer.
