Is It Easy To Cancel Your Daily Harvest Subscription

How To Make Daily Harvest Smoothies! | BALLIN’ ON A BUDGET!

Yes, its very simple to both cancel and pause your subscription. Weve had brief periods between moving within the past few years where we had to cancel plans since we were in between apartments. Daily Harvest does not make you call or email them to cancel your plan, which is a huge relief. Some other companies make you jump through hoops to cancel your plan. With Daily Harvest, you just log into your admin section and go to Manage Plan. From there youll be able to click on Plan Status and change it to paused or cancelled. Also, if youre going to be away for a week or 2 when your box is scheduled to be delivered, you can always skip that week.

Daily Harvest Smoothies: A Vegetarians Review

I believe in smoothies: fruity or vegetabley, thick or thin, chunky or smooth. In fact, Ive written about smoothies a lot on the blog since I rely on them for breakfast so often. But I have never chatted with you about a smoothie topic like this before.

Joining the likes of Blue Apron and Plated dinner kit delivery services, but with a focus on your first meal of the day instead of your last, Daily Harvest will ship smoothies to your door. Well, the ingredients anyway: single serve smoothie kits, already portioned, frozen, and cozily nestled in a cup. You do the actual smoothie making by dumping it all in the blender, adding liquid, and pushing power. That means you get a healthy breakfast without any of the recipe hunting, or the shopping, dicing, peeling, juicing, seeding, measuring, and dirtying of many dishes during the morning rush. With Daily Harvest, you blend, pour it all back into the paper cup it came in, and just rinse out the blender. No muss, no fuss.

Lets consider the cost: $47.94 for 6 smoothies means youre essentially paying $7.99 for each one, which seems a little pricey. OK, a lot pricey. Maybe thats why they call them premium smoothies? For comparison, the Evolution Fresh smoothies at Starbucks are $5.95, and the Jamba Juice equivalent ranges from $4.80-5.65.

How Do Customers Feel About Daily Harvest

As of the time of publication, Daily Harvest is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. However, it currently holds an A rating, which is based on factors such as the companys business practices, its complaint history, and how long it has been in business.

On Trustpilot, Daily Harvest has an average rating of 3.2 out of 5 stars, which is based on a total of 1,077 customer reviews.

Many customers state that the meals are convenient, easy to prepare, nutritious, and tasty. Some also note that customer service is quick to respond and resolve any issues with orders.

On the other hand, some reviewers report dissatisfaction with the quality of food and issues with delivery or missing items.

Many reviewers have also expressed concerns about food safety, especially in the wake of several recent class action lawsuits that have been filed against the company.

In June 2022, the company issued a voluntary recall of its French Lentil + Leek Crumbles after reports of severe gastrointestinal issues that were linked to the item .

According to the company, the issue resulted from a single ingredient tara flour that was used in the item and does not impact any of the other items on the menu .

Daily Harvest Menu Reviews From Daily Harvest Smoothies To Coconut

We have loved so many of our Daily harvest cups, but there is one thing I would suggest passing on. The soups are delicious but I truly dont think they are worth the cost per cup. So, even though we loved the Cauliflower + Leek souppaired with bone broth, my suggestion is to skip it and get some of the other heartier options.

Every Menu Item That I’ve Tried:

What I Didnt Like About Daily Harvest

Im a girl who likes to eata lot. And while all of the Daily Harvest things Ive eaten so far have ranked high in taste, theyve ranked low in actually filling me up. Are they a meal? Or are they a snack? With calorie counts ranging from 200 to 300 on average, Id vote for the latterespecially as most lack a lot of protein or fat, both of which keep you feeling fuller longer. To make one Daily Harvest cup more satiating, Id end up adding protein or eating something else like a protein bar with it. This took away from the whole convenience factor.

Plus, at the end of the day, its a frozen meal. I loved the cauliflower pesto bowl for something that came out of the freezer. Was it better than making the exact same bowl with fresh ingredients? Hard no. Call me picky or call me honest, but freezer meals never taste the same as the real thing, and Daily Harvest, despite its best intentions, is no different.

What Are Daily Harvest Meals Like

In a word, healthy. Daily Harvest smoothies, bowls, flatbreads and the rest all have one thing in common, and that’s lots of healthy foods, superfoods, grains, fruits, vegetables, greens, beans, berries and nuts. If it’s been a trending health food in the past decade — think avocado, kale, turmeric, matcha, kabocha squash — you can bet you’ll find it in atleast a few of Daily Harvest’s creations.

What Do Customers Think Of Daily Harvest Smoothies

Review | Daily Harvest Strawberry Peach Smoothie

We found plenty of perspectives online about previous customers experience with Daily Harvest, and most were positive.

On the company website, hundreds of reviews are listed that were related to specific food options. Many go into detail about the ways the customer personalized their meals . We read lots of reviews that praised the flavor profile for each dish, and numerous reviewers noted how easy the prep process was.

A review from Business Insider is also favorable towards the company. The reviewer noted that the smoothies were a stellar alternative for buying groceries for a single person, as fresh produce often goes bad before its used. The review praised how easy the smoothie prep was, and that they were surprisingly rich for being dairy-free.

Similar opinions are also on Trustpilot. Many reviewers noted that the food tasted fresh, healthy, and filling, though a few stated that the soups were too garlicky.

We did notice some customer service complaints on the site. A few people complained that their food was melted and spoiled before it arrived, and others noted that they had difficulty getting their money back if they complained about their order. Others noted that the company website seemingly made it difficult for them to find how to cancel their order.

Finally, some found it frustrating that they needed to have extra ingredients on hand which increased the overall per-smoothie price.

Daily Harvest Reviews: What Do Customers Think

This Daily Harvest review wanted to find out more about what customers thought of the food delivery service. Ahead, youll find feedback sourced from the brands official website, Trustpilot, and news outlets such as Huffpost and Real Simple.

The brands website hosts generally positive customer reviews for its various menu options. One Daily Harvest review for their Strawberry + Peach flavor reads:

It was nice. The flavor was more delicate and subtle when I used water. I tasted the strawberry the most. I might use plant-based milk next time for a more milkshake experience. The color was pretty too.

Speaking of plant-based milk, their Almond Mylk received 4.7/5 stars .

One buyer shared, I still cant believe this Mylk is so clean and delicious. I love that its only 2 ingredients and how easy it is to make. I wont be drinking any other milks tbh. The main complaint that users had about these wedges was around the tricky packaging.

With some of Daily Harvests plant-based products, the taste and texture can take some getting used to. For example, customers were a little surprised with the Mint + Dark, Melty Cacao Chips Scoop, giving it 3.7/5 stars.

One mixed review reads, This tasted good, but the texture wasnt very close to ice cream. Hard as a rock in the freezer. Chocolate chips seemed a bit bitter to me, but overall a good taste. Others agreed that it was best to leave the Scoops out for 10 minutes to achieve a softer consistency.

How Does Daily Harvest Compare To Other Subscription Companies

From our understanding, Daily Harvest is striving to compete against two separate industries: premade smoothies and meal subscription services. How does it stack up?

Pricewise, Daily Harvest smoothies come in on the expensive side. The smoothies cost between $7 – $8 each, compared to about $5.00 for premade Evolution smoothies at Starbucks. While this seems expensive at first glance, you might still save money because you wont waste ingredients at home. Many Daily Harvest smoothies include ingredients that could be difficult to track down in grocery stores, especially at the quantity they contain.

Regarding other smoothie subscription services, we found that Daily Harvest Smoothies seems to have three primary competitors: GreenBlender, HungryRoot, and Splendid Spoon. Lets see how these three compare to each other.

GreenBlender smoothies werent taking new subscriptions at the time of writing, but this subscription smoothie company costs approximately $4.90 per 12-ounce serving. Their weekly plan costs $49 per box, which provides ten smoothie servings. This company offers fresh or powdered ingredients , meaning that youll need to add ice to make them chilled.

HungryRoot meals are similar to the non-smoothie options at Daily Harvest, and they offer opportunities for plant-based, nutrient-dense dishes that can be made quickly. Some assembly is required for these foods, but you wont have to do much, if any, cooking.

Ingredients And Sourcing: Sustainable

Daily Harvest prides itself on being socially and environmentally conscious, and its regenerative agriculture system meets that goal. This company works with farmers to “reverse the damage … done to the planet and ensure fertile land for our future.” Daily Harvest also takes aim at labor and wage disparities by “putting more money in the pockets of the people who grow our food” and practicing fair equitable labor.

Daily Harvest is combating climate change by investing in agriculture partners to create more organic farmland, which, in turn, creates more accessibility to organic foods through “lower prices, fewer food deserts, and more organic to go around.” Among these 283 partners worldwide are organic coffee company Vega Coffee, whose beans are sourced from Nicaragua and Colombia, and a third-generation farmer who grows figs in San Joaquin, California.

Eating vegan or plant-based is not a new conceptback in 2015, Beyonce even started her own vegan meal delivery service, called 22 Days Nutrition, based on the notion that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Daily Harvest allows you to do this, too, by consistently including organic healthy foods into your diet to create better eating habits. By using 95% organic plant-based ingredients in its dishes, sourcing food from sustainable farms, and reducing food waste by 47% using a farm-frozen format over refrigerated food, Daily Harvest is a company you can feel confident in when it comes to sustainable ingredients and sourcing.

Taste: Delicious Smoothies Decent Frozen Food

Daily Harvest Smoothies Review

For the most part, I enjoy the taste of Daily Harvests concoctions. Overall, Id give their food items a B+ for taste. Their flatbreads are hearty and healthy, and the Harvest Bowls are fine. Some of them have a sun-dried tomato-y taste I didnt care for, but overall the tastes arent disenchanting.

I will also add that, because of the from-frozen technique Daily Harvest employs, the Harvest Bowls, Harvest Bakes and flatbreads can have a bit of a mushy texture depending on preparation, and so they arent always as crisp as something you could make from scratch at home. Its not off-putting, but notable for sure.

Overall, I would rate Daily Harvests smoothies and bowls the highest, but its all worth trying.

The Competition: Daily Harvest Vs Revive Superfoods

Daily Harvest and Revive Superfoods both offer an extensive selection of ready-to-blend smoothie cups with the addition of liquid at home. Revive Superfoods offers some additional savory bowls but does not have nearly the variety of items that Daily Harvest has. We also found the items at Daily Harvest to be slightly more creative in flavor and of better quality in terms of visual appearance and taste. Aesthetically, Daily Harvest also wins with its clean, minimalistic, eco-friendly packaging. On price alone, though, Revive Superfoods offers a better deal for smaller orders.

Daily Harvest is a convenient meal delivery service for pre-made frozen meals that are simple to heat, either as they are or with minimal preparation, ready in minutes. Whether you are seeking easy ways to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet or looking for 100% plant-based meals for every meal, Daily Harvest can meet your needs. Just keep in mind that all portions are one serving and cannot be customized.

Can Daily Harvest Be Used As A Weight Loss Meal Delivery Service

This is a question Ive seen come up quite a lot. If youre looking to lose weight, Daily Harvest would not be the first meal delivery service Id recommend. This might seem counterintuitive since I literally just said I think their meals are healthy. However, Daily Harvest is not designed to help you lose weight and, as such, people who purchase it for that reason might be disappointed if they dont see results.

How Do I Sign Up For Daily Harvest

Signing up for Daily Harvest is easy, and can be done on their website. They have a large menu of food options you can choose from including smoothies, Harvest Bowls, Harvest Bakes, flatbreads, soups, oat bowls, chia bowls and their healthy ice cream line: Scoops!

  • Step 1: Choose the size of your plan
  • Step 2: Choose the food youd like in each shipment
  • Step 3: Select the date of your first shipment, and youre off to the races!

You can choose between their small, medium and large plans with 9 items, 14 items and 24 items, respectively, and choose the cadence as well. I found that a weekly plan was far too frequent for me and my schedule, and I ended up having too many items left over and needed to push almost every shipment a week or two later. However, if youre a person who hates to cook and wants to embrace a healthier diet this year, then it could be worth choosing a plan with a more frequent cadence and more food per shipment. Likewise, it might be helpful to divide up the cost of each shipment with a roommate or partner.

Daily Harvest Overnight Oat Reviews

So far the only Daily Harvest overnight oats that Ive tried are the Mulberry + Dragon Fruit. It was really tasty, and super simple to make.

You just need to add almond milk the night before you want to enjoy them, shake it up + heat in the morning!

Overnight oats are very simple to make on your own so I dont regularly add these to my subscription.

Instead I opt for things I cant make at home as easily like the smoothies/lattes.

What Comes In A Daily Harvest Box

Your Daily Harvest box is filled with what you choose. This is what I love most about my Daily Harvest Box trying new flavor combinations, and knowing that I can select how many items I want to receive and the frequency of delivery.

I usually fill my box with a combination of Harvest Bowls for lunch, a couple of Oat Bowls for breakfasts, a few Smoothies, and several Harvest Bakes for either big lunches or dinner-time rescue.

You can see my favorite Daily Harvest meals and customize your box here.
