    Our kids are on the picky side, and getting healthy vegetables in their diet can be tricky. When they were very little, I used to blend fruit with yogurt and/or milk for myself as a healthy and sugar free snack, and our kids started liking it too. After making the smoothie for them a few times, I came up with the idea of adding spinach leaves to make it healthier. The kids did not taste a difference! The blueberries even masked the green color of the spinach!

    After a while of putting it in secretly, I let them notice me adding it in so that they realize that spinach is not so bad after all. Nowadays, I buy fresh checked spinach leaves to put into the smoothie, and if it isn’t used within a few days, I freeze it. You can use fresh or frozen spinach, strawberries, peaches basically any fresh or frozen fruit you enjoy. The following is what I normally use.

    For the base of the smoothie I use milk and/ or yogurt. I prefer with yogurt as it’s a more filling snack. I also sometimes add flax seeds into my bowl to give it a little crunch and added protein.
