Its great to be able to walk in the door, place your order like a pro and move on with your day. No clarifying, no repeating and no explanations necessary!

Smoothie King offers a fish- and soy-free menu and people with allergies to gluten and wheat can find safe meals to enjoy, but those with milk, egg, nut, and tree nut allergies should be cautious since these ingredients are found in many menu items.

However, you should not, under any circumstances, stoop to the level of ordering the Original High Protein Lemon smoothie youll find at Smoothie King. Think about it: When you want anything thats lemon-flavored, its probably because you want something light and fresh. But when you mix it with almonds and whey protein like youll find in this smoothie, it completely ruins that freshness.

The texture and the mouthfeel of this smoothie dont make sense at all with the flavor. They seem completely incompatible, and were not sure how they ended up in one drink together. Coffee Lovers Protein Shake

Breakfast smoothies and coffee are my jam which means this coffee lovers protein shake is my ultimate fave! So coffee protein shake umm yes please. And this one tastes like a straight up milkshake.

On a rainy day, theres nothing I like more than sitting by the window and writing with a delicious treat nearby to sip or snack on. But as the rain falls, sometimes my energy falls, too!

So a quick caffeine boost definitely helps.

But I dont always want a latte or even just brewed coffee. So, I came up with this breakfast smoothie that comes with a kick of cold coffee and some cacao nibs for a pretty finish. Yay for healthy protein shake!

What To Avoid At Smoothie King

The most obvious drinks to avoid at Smoothie King include anything with pineapple, mango, orange, or banana. These fruits are high in carbs and even without the added sugar, can kick you out of ketosis.

Avoid The Hulk line at Smoothie King. All of these smoothies have ice cream added and contain around 60-100g of sugar!

High Protein Coffee Shake Recipe

Prep for this recipe by freezing coffee ice cubes. This will give you a lot more flavor than ice alone. Buy a silicone ice tray and freeze them at least a few hours ahead of time. I like to brew my coffee strong and freeze it black.

Once your coffee is frozen, you are ready to go.

For the rest of the shake, you will need:

  • 1-2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • About 6 coffee ice cubes
  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Dried and pitted dates
  • Chia seeds

Start by filling your blending cup with the spinach first, followed by either fats for Keto or the dates, your scoop of protein and then almond vanilla milk . Blend this together until smooth. If this is getting too full for the blender, you can set some aside in a cup in the freezer to mix back in later. Add your coffee ice cubes and blend again. Taste your fully blended mixture and adjust for sweetness . If you want to add chia seeds, stir these in last.

This recipe has just a little sweetness and great coffee flavor. If you are Keto, dont add the dates. They are so delicious in it, but arent worth the carb count. Make sure you are picking a protein powder that is very low carb. I really like the taste of this one:
