Here Are Some Delicious Breakfast Options If You Are Managing High Blood Pressure:

  • Breakfast literally means breaking the fast
  • Breakfast provides essential fuel and energy to our body
  • Breakfast is essential to boost up metabolism

There is a popular saying that goes, “Eat your breakfast like a king, and lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” Breakfast is indeed one of the most important meals of the day. Breakfast literally means breaking the fast. Since you don’t consume anything after dinner till you wake up the next morning, your body needs to fuel to kickstart. Breakfast provides that essential fuel for energy. And, that is not all, breakfast is essential to boost up metabolism. If you start your day hungry, you get tired fast, also when you skip your breakfast, you are most likely to feel hungry earlier and grab hold of anything fattening. This is why no matter how pressed for time you are, you must make room for having a filling and nutritious breakfast. However, when you are suffering from conditions like hypertension and diabetes, the breakfast ideas tend to narrow due to dietary restrictions. You cannot eat and enjoy a variety of sugary or salt laden foods that most of your peers can enjoy right at the start of the day. But, there are plenty of reasons to look forward to breakfast still, if you are willing to explore an experiment. People with high blood pressure need to ensure some basic dietary precautions and they are good to go. Healthy foods for high blood pressure may go a long way in managing the condition of hypertension.

Green Smoothie Recipes For Type 2 Diabetes

Smoothie Recipes for High Blood Pressure

One of THE biggest questions I get is about whether or not diabetics should consume green smoothies. I will attempt to answer this question in this post.

First, you should know that I am not a doctor, and that absolutely nothing in this post should be taken as medical advice. Always work with your doctor before making any dietary or lifestyle changes when you have a medical condition, such as diabetes. Keep in mind that your results may vary from somebody elses.

Okay, now with that out of the way

The biggest concern that diabetics have about green smoothies is their sugar content. It is true that fruit contains glucose . People with metabolic disorders such as diabetes should strictly monitor their carbohydrate intake including the amount of sugar that they get from each meal. But this doesnt mean that you cant have any fruit, or that green smoothies are not for you.

Fresh, whole fruits, as well as blended green smoothies not only provide a healthy way for diabetics to get more fruits and vegetables in their diet, green smoothies also may help reverse some of the diet and lifestyle problems that exacerbate diabetes, or contributes to its progression.

Eat A Healthy Breakfast

Itâs often called the most important meal of the day. That may be even more true for people with diabetes. A morning meal helps to keep your blood sugar steady all day long. One study found that skipping it caused bigger blood sugar spikes after lunch and dinner. But not all breakfasts are created equal. To start your day off right, your breakfast should include fiber, lean protein, and healthy fats.

Here Are Some Delicious Breakfast Ideas If You Are Managing High Blood Pressure:

1. Oats Idli

These light and fluffy idlis made with the goodness of oats makes for one delightful treat. Oats are full of fibre, which plays a crucial role in maintaining blood pressure levels. Avocado Cherry And Almond Milk Smoothie:

Top 5 Juice Recipes for Diabetes and High Blood Pressure

This recipe has cherries, one of my favorite seasonal fruits. Cherries are good for you, and provide a wide variety of dietary benefits, including adding fiber to your diet, and 16% of daily Vitamin C. There is no fat, and no salt in cherries. They provide just 90 calories and 22 grams of carbohydrates per cup. A half cup serving is usually an ample amount when added with the other ingredients in this smoothie. Avocado may seem to be an unlikely pairing with cherries, but you will be pleasantly surprised at the taste. Avocados are good for you, but they are very high in fat content. Therefore, portion size with avocado is important.

They provide some fiber, vitamin K, folate, and pantothenic acid. There are 21 grams of fat, with only 15% in the saturated fat category, so avocados are mostly made up of good fats. There are 12 grams of carbohydrates, and a high potassium level, though avocados are low in salt. Added in small amounts to the diet, avocados are a source of good fats to increase HDL, or good cholesterol. You will also add a half a cup of fresh blueberries, and a half cup of almond milk to this smoothie. Yum!It is recipe # 5 here:

What You Put In It Matters

Be careful. Not all smoothies are the same. Your goal is to crowd in the greens and the blueberries and you need to make it cold and sweet enough so youll enjoy it. Protein is essential and helps control your bodys insulin response. We recommend you choose non-dairy sources of protein as milk, yogurt and kefir can be harder to digest and negatively impact inflammation. And AVOID fruit juices they are loaded with sugar that you just dont need.
