Love Clinique But I’m Not A Fan Of Their Vitamin C Lip Smoothie
I love Clinique, but I was less than impressed when I received a sample of their Vitamin C lip smoothie along with a purchase. It goes on in globs and is a very unattractive color, or at least the one I received. I received the goodness grapecious color and it is such a stand-out color. I find it hard to believe that it would look good on anyone. It took me a while to figure out how to work it. You turn the end and the lip gloss comes out onto the brush. A lot comes out at once, leaving you with a huge glob of color mess to put on your lips. The lip colour comes off very easy too. I took one sip of my coffee and pretty much all of my color was gone. I find that the tube is very messy, as so much colour comes out at once. I don’t exactly know what Clinique’s claim is about the lip colour either, being as it is labeled “vitamin C.” My lips did not feel any different when using the product.

Putting aside all that good for you ingredients stuff the Muse admits that shes just a gloss junkie kinda girl and the idea of anything that promises shiny, pigmented lips in a click style applicator is a no brainer in the I wants that now please, thank you so much.
Ok, ok aside from my need for more gloss I do so admit that the interesting antioxidant formula tickles my curiosity. The formula is supposedly non-sticky and highly moisturizing and most important packed with good for you ingredients. I couldnt resist the corny title
But the Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie is very nice indeed. You like lipglosses? Youre going to love the brush on light formula that leaves your lips looking glossy. Love lipsticks? Youll like the moisturizing formula with nice pigmented colour.
On top of that all, it has anti-oxidant properties thanks to things like Vitamin C, Acai berry and Pomegranate. For moisturizing, it has shea butter and Theobrama Grandiflorum seed butter. Very nice in theory but how does it fare in reality?
Well, it fares very well indeed! The colour I have is Berry Boost which is a shade I particularly like! Being a click-pen mechanism, it takes a while before the initial liquid comes out on the brush. I counted something like 25 turns but because you can actually feel it getting harder to turn, you know something is being pushed out and so its not that easy to over do. Once you get over the initial bit, it doesnt take that much to get the colour out anymore. 2-3 turns just about does it. Colour swatch after the jump.
From the tube, Berry Boost is a deep berry shade that I really liked. On my lips however, it sheers out so for someone who likes their pigmented lip colours, it took some getting used to. There is still a hint of berry but what you really get is a glossy berry shade. Picture shows same colour taken under different lighting.

Moisturizing And Healthy But Really
Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie came to me in the gift with purchase pack. I got the Mango-Thon. I love the color. It is a neutral color that goes with anything. I like the fact that it feels like I am doing something good for my lips. But Really? Am I? The packaging says Vitamin C, but I start to wonder how much vitamin C does it really contain? And how is Vitamin C good for your lips when applied to the surface? Does it really do anything good or healthy? This is a lip gloss so I do not really expect it to last a long time. And it does not last at all if you want to know the truth. It does have attractive packaging with a roll-up applicator brush. You click the end and the gloss comes out of the brush. Pretty conveinent. Alot easier than the gobs of gloss you get on the standard gloss sponge applicator. Overall, I would say this is an average product with average expectations. I still love Clinique’s products, but I would not buy this particular one.

UK. Clinique has expanded its make-up offer with a new lip product, called Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Antioxidant Lip Colour. Described as an antioxidant fruit smoothie for the lips, it is said to deliver a healthy dose of colour, in addition to treatment benefits.
The vitamin-packed formula contains a cocktail of ingredients that work together to improve the condition of the lips instantly and over time, the brand maintains.
