No Cape May stay is complete without breakfast at the Mad Batter . Im dreaming of a relaxing breakfast on the porch, a basket full of fresh-baked breads and my favorite vegan granola with fresh fruit, pumpkin, cinnamon and almond milk.
Healthy eating comes easy in Cape May. Bella Vida Garden Cafe offers vegan and vegetarian fare on their lovely outdoor patio. Good Earth Organic Eatery features seasonal organic fruits and veggies and locally sourced seafood. Lunch on zoodles in bolognese or a veggie-full summer curry with their homemade sourdough bread.
Its fish tacos with a surfer vibe at Big Wave Burritos , my choice when Im in the mood for an acai or pitaya bowl.
Do try the Monkey Bowl at Aloha Smoothie Company, their yummy combo of acai, PB and banana topped with granola and chocolate flakes.
A shore vacation calls for seafood. Look no further than the classic Lobster House , with dockside dining, a waterfront view and cocktails on a 130 foot-long authentic Grand Banks sailing vessel.

I ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on an egg bagel. I also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie. Both were to die for! The smoothie was simple with no unnecessary ingredients which is just how I make them at home. The sandwich was very hearty and filling. There are many great options on the menu and they’re all unique!!! Highly recommend trying it. There’s something for everyone.
Tried the Monkey Bowl and it was quite good. The acai was blended to a nice, smooth and creamy consistency. The bananas and other toppings were tasty. Did not take too long to make it but I could see there being a long wait on a weekend in peak season. Will definitely be back to try another bowl!
I am NOT an açaí bowl kind of person. My wife wanted to visit here to grab a bowl and I was going to tolerate a smoothie. I ate the entire smoothie and half of her açaí bowl. We are visiting cape may again this summer and we are going here again so I cant get my own bowl. Well done!

More of a West Coast and Hawaiian concept, and similar to a healthy sundae, the smoothie-in-a-bowl typically pairs a cold whipped concoction of some sort – usually frozen yogurt – with items like fresh fruit and high protein foods, including acai and gogi berries. But when Mickey Chew began offering the smoothie bowls at his stands along with the usual smoothies in a cup, he decided to blend guarana seeds mixed with a choice of soy or almond milk to create the thick, ice-cream-like base for the bowls instead of frozen yogurt.
The bowls at Aloha are offered in six varieties. Each type features various combinations of bananas, strawberries, or other fruit, and honey, coconut, and organic items like hemp seeds, fresh spinach, and whey protein.

I cant go to Cape May without stopping at the Cape May Peanut Butter Co. in the Washington Street Mall. Its not a sit down eatery by any means, but more of a retail shop/bakery. If you love peanut butter, then this is the perfect shop for you! They sell many varieties of freshly made peanut butter and peanut buttery treats. You can buy jars of traditional and flavored peanut butter or powdered peanut butter, bags of candies, jellies and more. I also recommend grabbing a few of their handmade cookies/treats at the bakery counter before heading out. Their large peanut butter cookie with a peanut butter cup in the center is my fav! The people working here are always so nice too!
