Can You Make Fruit Smoothies With A Juicer
The answer really depends upon what type of smoothies you are looking to make. In general, the answer is yes. But it is important that you realize that you are not going to get the same sort of smoothie that you get with a blender.
Lets dig a bit deeper and see what sort of smoothie you can make.
As I wrote at the top of this section, you can make fruit smoothies with a juicer. And I wanted that to be clear. Its only fruit smoothies that I endorse you making, or trying to make with your juicer. Green smoothies are just not something I endorse.
And you can only make fruit smoothies with your juicer if you have a certain type of juicer. You can make a nice fruit smoothie with berries in your masticating juicer, but not in your regular juicer.
I covered this in my article on the differences between juicers and blenders and tried to answer the question can a juicer be used as a blender.
The reason that you can make a smoothie with a cold press juicer is that most of them come with attachments that allow you to puree fruit. This means youll get something like a mushy fruit puree which you can then add to water or almond milk and mix up. Walayouve got a pretty good smoothie.
But you cant do this with leafy greens. Stick to juicing your leafy greens if youve only got a juicer.

The downside would be that you may have to remove this ground substance from the drink after blending, so it doesn’t get too chewy or thick. If that’s the case you can also add a suitable liquid to make it thinner again. That’s more easy instead of removing the ground substance.
Psyllium seeds are a very good alternative. They can soak a lot of liquid and make your smoothie thicker. Many people use psyllium seeds to loose some weight. They consume the seeds with a lot of water. The seeds absorb the liquid and increase their volume extremely. This makes you feel fuller and eat less.

And honestly, even if I didnt have a blender around, and if I only had a juicer, then I would go ahead and skip making this improvised smoothie.
You can make what amounts to a smoothie, but its not technically a smoothie. If anything, it would be a juice reconstituted. Which can approach what a smoothie is supposed to be.

You will need to take the pulp and combine it with the juice. Thats the reason why I like masticating juicers. They make it very easy to take the pulp and spoon it back into the juice.

High fiber vegetables like peas, broccoli or tomato puree can also make your smoothies creamy because they are high in carbs. To do this just blend 1/4-1/2 cup of these veggies with some water until it gets creamy consistency before adding the rest of the ingredients into your blender.
