Now, Foraker and Garner are part owners of the company whose organic products can be found via the direct-to-consumer Once Upon a Farm website and at such major retailers as Target, Whole Foods and Kroger. Were at about 1.5 percent household penetration in the U.S. now, which is pretty significant for a brand our size, Foraker says, adding that the company is the fastest-growing plant-based brand for kids in the U.S.

In addition, Garners century-old family farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, is a small supplier thanks to her uncle Robert, who uses a biodynamic farming method to grow produce. Garner notes to The Hollywood Reporter, Its the very farm that my mom grew up on that inspired my work with Save the Children, that inspired me wanting to join a company that would help kids like the kids that Save serves.

Curtis, the brands chief innovation officer, drives the product development side of the business, which moves pretty quickly from the ideation to sale stage within nine months or so, Foraker says. The companys most popular products offer a balanced mix of fruits and vegetables, like green kale and apple, and include brain-boosting ingredients like chia and hemp seeds.

Our applesauce includes the skin because its a great probiotic, Garner says, noting that its important to introduce new and fresh flavors to young children. Im so happy to be part of expanding their little palates.

Once Upon a Farm offers cold-pressed, organic pouches and meals that are designed to taste great to your kiddos while packing in as much nutritional value as possible. These easy-to-eat on-the-go meals and snacks are perfect for kids of all ages, from babies to teens. As parents and/or guardians, we can feel great about choosing Once Upon a Farm as the brand is full of integrity and dedication to bettering the lives of families everywhere.

Once upon a time, food came from the earth and farms. Today, so much of what lines the store shelves are filled with artificial ingredients, fillers, preservatives, and other junk thats affecting our overall health and nutrition.

As health-conscious parents, we often feel lost, confused, and duped by whats out there claiming to be healthy. We want the best for our kids, but navigating baby and toddler nutrition is overwhelming. In a perfect world, wed have the time and energy to make homemade foods for our children, lovingly pureeing fruits and vegetables to be enjoyed, knowing that our kiddos are getting the nutrients they need to grow and thrive.

But the reality is that most of us have far too much on our plates to do this. And, besides, who needs that added pressure?

Once Upon A Farm Moves Into Frozen Category With Acquisition

Once Upon a Farm Probiotic Dairy

BERKELEY, CALIF. Once Upon A Farm, a manufacturer of refrigerated pouch snacks for children, has acquired baby food meal delivery company Raised Real. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal adds frozen meal options to the Once Upon A Farm portfolio, which includes plant-based yogurts, smoothies and blends featuring fruits and vegetables. Once Upon A Farm said it will reintroduce the line of organic meals later this year in Target stores and on the Once Upon A Farm website. The meals may be pureed, mashed or served as finger foods and incorporate ingredients such as sweet potatoes, coconut butter and oats.

“We’ve watched and admired Raised Real’s approach and products for over three years and think they are a perfect fit for our portfolio as we continue to build our next-generation kid nutrition company.” said John Foraker, co-founder and chief executive officer of Once Upon a Farm. “They give us an important entree into the frozen space where there is significant opportunity for baby and kid innovation, and to increase our scale and capabilities in direct-to-consumer, which is an important part of our growth strategy.”
