Hybrid And Specialty Blenders

BEST Portable Smoothie Blender || HOW TO USE your Teami MIXit!

A few manufacturers have created hybrid blenders that have a single base that can power either a blender jar or a food processor bowl. These can be handy for people who dont have space for both appliances and dont need all of the functions of a full-size food processor. Some blenders are specifically designed for making blended drinks, with blender jars that include a spigot for dispensing them.

Why Choose Vitamix Over A Regular Blender

Vitamix blenders are some of the most powerful and versatile on the market. They’re known for being able to blend any recipe you can dream up, from basic smoothies to batters, frozen treats, thick nut butters, sticky doughs, and more.

Regular blenders tend to lack power and leave unblended chunks of ice cubes in your recipes. The motors also overheat or wear out.

Vitamix blenders are extremely durable, designed to resist overheating, are backed by extensive warranties, and the company offers stellar customer service.

It is battery operated and recharges via a USB-C cable, so it can be charged in the car or plugged into a laptop and used to blend anywhere, no electricity required. After testing the original BlendJet One, we were excited to get our hands on the next-generation model, the BlendJet 2, which offers a larger capacity blending cup , more power, and a longer battery life.

Our tester particularly liked that the BlendJet 2 can get at least 15 uses out of every full chargea significant improvement over the previous version. Another upgrade? There are measurement marks on the 16-ounce blender cup, which makes on-the-go eyeballing of ingredients simpleno measuring cups required. Like the original version, this model is self-cleaning for added convenience.

Our tester was also sent free samples of the brand’s JetPacks, which are powdered single-serving fruit, veggie, and protein smoothies that can be whipped up quickly in the blender, and found them “surprisingly tasty.”

Stick blenders are made up of a blade at the end of a long shaft that houses the motor. These blenders can work in just about any container they fit into, and are perfect for blending soups and sauces right in the pot. Many cooks love them for their ability to make a small amount of mayonnaise in a jar. Their small size means theyre easy to store, and most even fit in a drawer. Some come with accessories, like a whisk, extra blades, or chopping jars that could be beneficial.

Smeg Blf01 50s Blender

Best looking blender with smart features

Type: AluminiumDimensions: 20 x 16.5 x 40cmPower: 800 wattsReasons to buy: Awesome 50s retro style, incredibly sleek and easy to useReasons to avoid: Only one pitcher, cant handle soup

With a die-cast aluminium body and six lovely colours to choose from, you wont want to remove the Smeg BLF01 50s blender from your kitchen counter. We were impressed with just how smooth it left our drinks, even when they had ice and frozen blocks of spinach a notoriously tricky ingredient. The soup had an almost whipped consistency because of how well the blender broke through tomato skins and peppers to incorporate, but Smeg does recommend waiting until your soup has cooled before blending, which is a shame.

The jug doesnt need to be screwed in: just slot it into the base and select your setting. The Smeg BLF01 50s blender may have a retro style but the build is all modern. It features a pulse setting and numerous preset modes, including a button for blitzing ice.

You only get the 1.5 litre tritan jug with this one, so its not the most versatile. For pairing with a toaster or kettle though, the look really does impress. It also felt incredibly powerful and not too loud, which given the 800 watt motor was a surprise.

While it doesnt come with a storage case, this hand blender is a bargain considering all of the attachments it comes with. Its a great choice whether youre pureeing baby food or whisking egg whites.

Instant Pot Ace Nova Cooking Blender

Best Portable Blenders under $30 To Make Your Decision Quick

This is the only blender we tested that has an actual cooking function. While some blenders — including certain Vitamix blender like Vitamix e310 explorian blender, the Braun TriForce and Breville Super Q — use sheer force and friction to heat up a blend, this one generates heat to cook what’s inside and then whirs it all into a pureed soup with one button touch.

To test the soup setting, we threw a bunch of very roughly chopped vegetables, chicken stock, garlic and herbs into the canister, then hit the soup 2 program. Over the next 20 minutes, we watched as it cooked the veggies and spun them into a silky smooth soup. There’s also an option to leave the soup chunky if you prefer. If you’ve used a Thermomix, it’s like a mini version that doesn’t cost $1,500. We found it to be a particularly impressive feature for a blender at this price.

How did it do in the other blending tests? Pretty well, although it is definitely not the most powerful blender we tested. The Instant Ace Nova handled frozen fruit, ice, raw almonds and cheese with little resistance and the cleaning program worked particularly well — perhaps the best of the bunch. The Ace Nova was also one of the quietest of the blenders we tested, which has to count for something.

Benchtop Or Stick Blender

While it’s great to think you’ll be using a blender for a myriad of new culinary adventures, if the truth is you’re only going to end up using it occasionally for fruit smoothies and shakes, a stick blender will do the job and cost you less.

But if you’re blending often and with ingredients like hard fruit, seeds, vegetables and ice, you’ll need the grunt only a benchtop blender can offer.

Best Overall: Cuisinart Hurricane Pro 35 Peak Hp Blender

Surprised? Blender powerhouses like Vitamix and Blendtec often top lists of the best blenders, but we found another one we think you should buy if you’re in the market.

This professional-grade blender from Cuisinart is Rachel’s overall best pick for the following reasons: It’s comparable to the Vitamix in terms of speed, power, and precision, but without the Vitamix price tag.

It has a prominently-displayed LCD display, along with a 10-speed knob and a turbo boost option. Plus, it comes with presets for smoothies, crushed ice, soup, pulsing, and cleaning.

“The 10-speed knob allows precision and control in making sauces that are sensitive to heat and friction ,” says Rachel. “This machine and the Vitamix made the smoothest sauces, suggesting that the lower speed control is key.”

In terms of cleanup, the parts are removable and are dishwasher safe, or you may wash them on the clean setting of the blender itself. It’s important to note that the bulky size of this blender makes it unfit for frequent transfer from cabinet to countertop.

“While it doesn’t come with a variety in pitcher size or travel cup accessories, this machine truly showcases the power behind the blender. The only thing knocking this machine is the noise, but it doesn’t last very long as the blender is so effective,” says Rachel.

How To Clean A Blender In The Right Way

After each use of the blender, cleaning is necessary. Lets see how to clean it the right way to keep it last for years.

The simplest method is cleaning it without rubbing. Now I will show you how to watch your device within one minute.

  • Step 1: Pour warm water into the blender until it fills up about ¾ of the container.
  • Step 2: Then, Add 4 to 5 drops of washing detergent. You can use any kind of dishwashing liquid, but it would better to go for organic.
  • Step 3: Lock the container with the lid and let the machine operate for 30 seconds.
  • Step 4: Rinse the container thoroughly, then let it dry out, preferably in the sunshine to eliminate some bacteria.

The main issue of cleaning the blender concerns washing the bottom near sharp blades areas. This technique reduces the risk of cutting your finger.

If traces persist, baking soda is recommended for better cleaning. Here is the process:

  • Step 1: Pour a solution of baking soda until it covers ¾ of the container.
  • Step 2: Cover the container by the lid.
  • Step 3: Start the device and let it run for 30 seconds.
  • Step 4: Reoperate it after 2 minutes.
  • Step 5: Rinse and let it dry.

Best Luxury Blender: Vitamix Venturist V1200 Amazoncom

Choosing your favorite Vitamix model is a little like naming your favorite child. The three blenders we tested from the long-trusted brand all had standout qualities and delivered impressive results that outdid all other competitors wed be happy to give any one of them permanent resident status on our kitchen counter. But when we added up all the scores and placed ourselves in a Sophies Choice sort of situation, the Venturist V1200 was the clear winner.

Yes, it was the priciest blender we tested. But when it came to turning out smoothies that were oh-so-thick, creamy and 100% silky-smooth peanut butter that has permanently scarred us from purchasing mass-produced versions ever again, soup that was velvety, chunk-free and piping hot, and ice that was perfectly crushed into snow-like flakes? Well, it just cant be beat.

Dont need all the techy bells and whistles? You cant go wrong with the Vitamix 5200 Standard. At $449.95, it has all that Vitamix power and a taller, narrower, high-profile container. In fact, this is our one nit to pick with the Venturist: Its low-profile container design is awesome for blending up big portions, but it doesnt work as well as the 5200s narrower version .

Make no mistake: This model, which combines crazy horsepower with Bluetooth technology along with a great range of container sizes, tools and more, costs a lot. Like, a lot. But if you use a blender daily, its worth saving your pennies for this Cadillac of kitchen appliances.
