Ideally, youve caught this accident right after it happened and its still wet. If youve stumbled on to this discovery and its dried, start by misting some water on the stain and leave it for a few minutes to loosen it up.

Next, remove as much as possible by gently blotting with paper towels.

If this is working keep at it until its removed. Then mist it with water, apply a pad of clean paper towels and a stack of books on top. Leave it for 30 minutes or until dry.

If youve gone as far as you can go with warm water and blotting but there is still color remaining, heres what to do:

In a spray bottle, mix ¼ tsp of bleach free dish soap and 2 cups of warm water. Spray this on the stain and gently blot the stain. Once its removed, mist the area with clean warm water. Then, apply a pad of clean paper towels on top, a stack of books and leave it for 30 minutes or until dry.

A note on stain removal:

  • Wipe. Start by removing any excess berry chunks or juice from the material.
  • Cleanse. Pour some hydrogen peroxide on the stained area.

    Allow To Dry And Vacuum

After the stain has been removed naturally, allow the area to dry completely. Once the area is dry youll want to vacuum the area. This will remove any excess baking soda that might not have been cleaned up.

As you can see, the stain is gone. This process took me less hands-on time than using a shampooer and the stain came out.

The next time you have a new stain I recommend using this natural carpet cleaner solution on them.

I had red koolaid on our carpet. I got a tea kettle and heated some hot water. I sprayed oxy-clean on the stain and poured the hot water on the stain a little at a time, soaking the hot water up with an old towel. Don’t rub it out, just press. It takes about 3 kettles of water, but it comes out! This also works on dried Gak, but you have to comb it out of the carpet, as you add hot water.

How to remove a coffee stain from your carpet

Water and dish soap is the safest method to start with. Its safe enough for wool blend carpets and it wont stain. This is the best method for when youre not sure what the stain is from.

Mix a cup of room temperature water with a few drops of dish soap. Use a white towel or a microfiber towel to work it into the stain. Dont get it too wet or it could soak through the carpet pad.

Let it sit for a few minutes and then use a clean cloth and fresh water to blot the stain. This is to get the soap out of the carpet.

    Dish Soap And Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is one of the mild bleaching agents that usually remove the entire stain from carpets, mirrors, and tiled floors.

When using this cleaning agent, make sure the concentration of hydrogen peroxide is no higher than 6% as it will turn a white carpet into a beige carpet that doesnt look as flattering.

Before applying any cleaning agent, blot the stain with a cloth. To remove the remaining wine from the carpet, mix two parts of hydrogen peroxide and one part of dish soap. Pour the mixture onto the stain and blot the area.

You may have to repeat the process if the red wine stain is large. Let the solution sit on the stain for 20 minutes to an hour and then blot if needed.

    How To Remove Strawberry Stains

The bright red color of strawberry stains might not be as dark and noticeable as a blueberry or blackberry stain, but you still want to get the stain out of your clothes after youve finished eating your sweet treat. For strawberry stains, use the same steps outlined above, but apply rubbing alcohol to the stain before placing it in the wash.

First, test how the fabric will react by placing some rubbing alcohol on an inconspicuous area of the clothing. If the fabric is unharmed, apply the rubbing alcohol to the stain, rinse with warm water, and wash the clothing in the hottest water possible.

For additional stain fighting power, wash the clothes with chlorine bleach or color safe bleach, depending on the fabric. Feel a little unsure about using bleach, learn how to use bleach like a pro.

    Removing Coffee And Wine Stains

  • 1Blot stain with a paper towel. Coffee and wine are two of the most troubling domestic stains out there the beverages are very common, and the stains they leave are insightful and horrid. as such, it’s important to attend to them as soon as possible. Take an absorbent paper towel and blot the stain without delay. XResearch source Try to refrain from rubbing or applying significant pressure to the stain at this stage– you’ll end up spreading the stain further if you do!
  • A dish towel or light bathing towel will also suffice, although paper towel’s preferable for its absorbent qualities.
  • 2Mix one tablespoon of ammonia with one cup of water. Mixing water and ammonia together will make a potent solution to ward off wine stains. Stir them together in a cup and get them ready for use on your stain. XResearch source
  • Use a mild detergent and water instead when treating wool-based carpets, as ammonia is known to have a destructive effect on them.
  • Alternatively, you can use lemon juice and dish detergent. This combination is seen to be better used for coffee stains as opposed to wine stains.
  • 3Apply lightly to a sponge. Get a kitchen sponge and dab it lightly in your ammonia solution. You’ll want the sponge to be damp, but not soaked you don’t want to get more of the solution on the carpet than is necessary.

How To Get Red Wine Out Of Clothes Carpet And Furniture

Most red wine stains occur on tablecloths, items of clothing, carpet and pieces of furniture like chairs, couches, and tables. As a result, it’s important to have a step-by-step process to jump into action as soon as that glass tips over.

When removing red wine stains, proceed as follows:

Step 1: After dabbing out as much red wine as possible, immediately add a squirt of lemon juice or white vinegar to the stain, allowing to soak for about 30 minutes.

Step 2:The entire area should now be washed with cold water . Give it a scrub, but make sure not to spread the stain.

Step 3: If the red wine stain is still clearly visible, sprinkle a generous amount of finely ground salt. Allow this to sit there for a few hours, soaking up all the liquids.

Step 4: Now brush off the salt and repeat the entire cleaning process again, attempting to reduce the visibility of the stain.

Step 5: If you have stained a textile that can be cleaned in the washing machine, put it in for a cycle after completing the above process.

Hot and spicy tip:Feel free to use baking powder, potato flour, or cornstarch instead of salt. It’ll be more expensive that way, but it’s your funeral.

How To Remove Berry Stains From Clothing And Linens

HOW TO CLEAN WATER STAINS OFF JUTE RUG FAST!

Be sure to begin by scraping and wiping off any obvious berry left on the material.

Next, turn the clothing or linens inside out, and rinse the stain with cold water to flush through as much of the berry stain as possible.

Place a clean white or light coloured hand towel between the two layers of the clothing , under the stain, to avoid rubbing the stain onto the opposite side of the garment.

Then, pre-treat the stain using a dab of liquid laundry detergent, a purchased “stain removal” solution , or rub vinegar or lemon juice , over the stain.

I like to use, and have had very good success, using professionally designed solutions/mixtures to pre-treat stains.

After treating the stain, allow the clothing or linen to pre-soak in cold water for about 30 minutes.

Rinse the material with cold water and check to see if the stain is still visible.

If there is no stain remaining, launder the clothing or linen as usual.

If the stain is still visible, repeat the above process, beginning with the application of a stain remover.

Be sure the stain is removed before drying the item in the dryer to avoid “setting” the stain.

Allowing the item to be dried outdoors, in the sunshine, will help for stubborn stains, as the UV rays from the sun help to break down the stain.

You might think an older carpet stain would be easier to clean than an old one, but the opposite is actually true. Set-in stains are harder to clean in the laundry and the same is true for carpet.

The trick is to rehydrate the original stain. Its sort of like turning the clock back. Once you rehydrate the old stain, you can clean it as though it just happened.
