Almond & Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

This is definitely a smoothie for chocolate lovers, yet is only 300 calories and provides 9 grams of fiber, says Gans.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup frozen strawberries or mixed berries, if you prefer
  • 3-6 ice cubes I use 5, depending on how thick you like your shakes

Steps:Starting with the almond milk, place all the ingredients into a blender. Depending on your blenders settings, first start by chopping up the ice and frozen strawberries, followed by pureeing the mixture to create a smooth, even consistency. In order to get your preferred consistency, you can also start by not adding any ice, following the other steps above. Once all other ingredients are mixed together, slowly add the ice, mix and then test. Continue to add more ice cubes until the desired consistency is met. If too thick, you can add some more almond milk, little by little. If not sweet enough, add a little more honey.

What Can You Do With Acai Berries

Super 4 Healthy Smoothie Bowl Recipes | Weight Loss Smoothies

Add them to frozen yogurt or low-fat desserts for a delicious treat. If you are feeling particularly industrious, here is a cheeky little recipe for your homemade frozen yogurt with acai berries tossed in. You will need an ice cream maker, but it is worth the investment. You will also need

1 cup of pomegranate pips

7 ounces of açai puree

A touch of honey to taste

32 ounces of Greek yogurt

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

½ cup of lime juice.

Next, toss the honey, vanilla, and lime juice, and mix this liquid straight into the yogurt, and set aside. Then, whisk the mixture until it is smooth. Simply pour the mix into your ice cream maker and follow the instructions as you normally would. Just keep an eye on the timer in the last two minutes, mix in your acai berries and pomegranates, and when done, pop it into the freezer to set. Voila!

Toss them into healthy snacks for a burst of sweetness. Perk up your boring granola or oatmeal with a handful of acai berries. You can even toss it into a salad for an interesting combination spinach, red onions, nuts, and acai berries will cause a party on your palate.

I love the Tomato + Zucchini Minestrone Soup. Its full of flavor + so yummy! However, similar to the harvest bowls I find that their soups arent very filling for me.

I really like hearty soups packed with protein, and while I love that these are veggie loaded they dont fill me up for a complete meal.

How To Make A Red Smoothie Bowl

Thick delicious smoothie bowls are a lot easier than you think. You do not need special ingredients. And you do not even need a fancy expensive blender! I made my smoothie bowls in a cheap blender for YEARS. The key is to STOP ADDING LIQUID!!! Thick smoothie bowls really only need frozen fruit and maaaaybe a splash. Yes a SPLASH of milk. This is less than cup per like 3 cups of fruit.

How to make my red smoothie bowl in ANY blender:

First, add a splash of milk on the bottom of the blender to help get the blades going.

Next, add the frozen fruit . Add any powders too.

Turn the blender on low. Use your tamper if you have one to push the frozen ingredients down towards the blades. Or, turn the blender off and scrape down the sides a couple of times.

Continue blending until your smoothie is SMOOTH and creamy and no chunks remain.

Note: depending on the power of your blenders motor, you might have to turn off the blender and scrape the ingredients down towards the blade a few times. DO THIS and DONT add more liquid or youll get a soupy, watery bowl that wont be able to support any toppings.

Sweet-and-salty fan? You should be all over this one. Natural sugars from raspberries, banana, figs, and cranberry are contrasted with two of the best nuts for weight loss: Cashews and pistachios. In a study at UCLA Center for Human Nutrition, researchers found that a daily snack of pistachios reduced BMI, cholesterol and triglyceride levels. According to Richard Mattes, a nutrition scientist from Purdue, nuts like cashews and pistachios are rich in protein and fiber, aiding in satiety which prevents overeating.

The combo of whole fruit, coconut milk and plant-based protein powder are what make this a balanced bowl, from a macronutrient perspective. Among other featured fruits are raspberries this berry ranks highly when it comes to fiber content, according to the USDA.

The recipe also calls for a serving of plant-protein powder. Protein in general is key when trying to shed pounds. This macronutrient is the most satiating and it helps maintain your metabolism, even when you’re losing weight. Protein also helps spare the loss of fat-free body mass.

This bright green bowl includes pineapples, matcha, zucchini, spinach and bananas. So often we hear about bananas being “fattening” because they’re high in carbs and have too much sugar. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Harvard researchers analyzed the consumption of certain fruits and vegetables and their association with changes in weight, in a study published in PLOS Medicine in January 2016. The study, spanning across three cohort studies and including more than 120,000 men and women, found that eating fruit, such as bananas, was not associated with weight gain.

A medium banana has 105 calories along with 3 grams of fiber, according to the USDA that fiber will help increase satiety and reduce appetite.
