This is one of my favorite recipes for a detox smoothie flush. Not only does it taste really delicious, but it also helps boost your metabolism, too!

Broccoli is an extremely healthy vegetable, often referred to as a super veggie. Its high in many nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, potassium and iron. Broccoli also contains more protein than most other vegetables, which gives you an extra metabolic boost .

This green smoothie detox recipe is great for someone whos new to smoothie recipes for weight loss. The flavors are mild, and the nutrition is high.

Almond & Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

This is definitely a smoothie for chocolate lovers, yet is only 300 calories and provides 9 grams of fiber, says Gans.


  • ¾ cup frozen strawberries or mixed berries, if you prefer
  • 3-6 ice cubes I use 5, depending on how thick you like your shakes

Steps:Starting with the almond milk, place all the ingredients into a blender. Depending on your blenders settings, first start by chopping up the ice and frozen strawberries, followed by pureeing the mixture to create a smooth, even consistency. In order to get your preferred consistency, you can also start by not adding any ice, following the other steps above. Once all other ingredients are mixed together, slowly add the ice, mix and then test. Continue to add more ice cubes until the desired consistency is met. If too thick, you can add some more almond milk, little by little. If not sweet enough, add a little more honey.

Can You Make This Green Smoothie In Advance

  • Personally, I enjoy drinking a freshly made smoothie. I’ve found that keeping green smoothies for even some hours, the color gets altered by oxidation, and in most cases, the taste isn’t as great!
  • If you’ve got time, make your green smoothie and drink it while still fresh! You can, however, meal prep the ingredients ahead of time. Clean the greens, cut off the stems and store them ready for use.

If you’re a beginner at making green smoothies, you might need to add an extra banana for a sweeter taste. Otherwise, this is a real treat for those avoiding sugar or dealing with diabetes.
