Daily Harvest Delivery: A Very Mixed Bag
I dont want to start this review off on a negative note, but I have to. In my first Daily Harvest box, half of the items inside were broken open, and therefore more than half the items I ordered were inedible. The pull-off plastic seals they have on their food items are flimsy, and the adhesive frequently comes undone even when I get one-off deliveries now.
The cardboard packaging everything comes in is definitely better for the environment, but I often dont consume at least 1-2 items in a shipment because theyre slightly open and the seal has broken. This is definitely one of the most disappointing aspects of Daily Harvests user experience, and something I hope the company improves in the future.
What Is Daily Harvest + How Does It Work
Daily Harvest is a meal delivery service that can be customized to you and your needs. It was started because the founder saw a disconnect between nourishing food and convenient food. And its so true most convenience foods at the store arent very nutritious and are seriously lacking when it comes to fruits and veggies.
With Daily Harvest every meal is built on organic fruits and vegetables and flavor is not sacrificed for convenience.
And its great if you have special dietary needs because all of the food that Daily Harvest provides is dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan.
You can have meals delivered weekly or monthly and you can choose from 80 recipes ranging from smoothies to harvest bowls to flatbreads to oat bowls. I have been so impressed with the quality and flavor of these frozen meals!
If Youve Never Tried Daily Harvest Let Me Give You The Run Down
I use the weekly delivery plan regularly . I love the flexible delivery option to pause weeks where Im traveling or have a full freezer from recipe testing As a vegetarian, my hesitation with food delivery services is that they wont have enough variety, so I love that everything offered by Daily Harvest is already plant-based. And it includes more than 100 options! The food is always gluten and dairy-free while also being devoid of gums, preservatives, and artificial anything, so it works for almost everyone.
What I love most about Daily Harvest is that it makes getting back to routine as easy as adding ingredients to a pan or into the oven. No prep needed, no shopping list for ingredients that will wither away in the back of the fridge, and no food waste! As a recipe developer, I love to cook and bake and get creative in the kitchen however, even I need convenient options that are just as flavorful as something I could make on my own. Thats what I really lean on Daily Harvest for. I can spend all day recipe testing and then lean on something easy and delicious when dinner comes around.

How Is Daily Harvest Delivered
Daily Harvest delivers to most states, so they ask for your ZIP code during the sign-up process. After checkout, the company will assign you a scheduled delivery day.
Once the order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information. The boxes are all packaged with dry ice to keep the items frozen, so even if deliveries are late by a day, your food should remain frozen.
Fresh Food: Sakara Or Thistle
Daily Harvest is proud of its farm-to-frozen meals, which it says retain maximum nutrients since the produce is frozen shortly after its picked. Still, certain disheslike baked goods and leafy saladsare just better fresh. You can get these from vegan- and gluten-free-friendly meal-delivery services Sakara and Thistle.

Harvest Bowl: Sweet Potato + Wild Rice Hash
I loved this one last week, and I loved it again. I repeated my almond milk addition for a super uplifting breakfast smoothie this week. I actually remember waking up early that day just because I knew I got to have this. The bright flavors of the peaches and strawberries work so well with the oats and feel so summery and light.
Who Is Splendid Spoon Best For
Someone who wants fully prepared meal delivery. Ready to heat and go. Total time savings with a focus on high quality, healthy, plant based meals.
If I were still traveling for work this is the kind of thing Id have shipped to the office. It would give me plenty of options to quickly grab healthy food throughout the day.
Right now, Ive just enjoyed having these options ready to grab after a workout when Im hungry and dont have anything ready in the fridge.

So Is Daily Harvest Worth It
Personally, I think Daily Harvest is totally worth the money. Between the convenience, amazing quality, and fair price it seems like a no brainer to me!
I usually only order smoothies, lattes, and chia parfaits simply because I think those have the most value to me. I find that the harvest bowls/soups arent necessarily filling for me or a fit for my diet .
Overall, I think that Daily Harvest is a great service, and love the convenience it offers me! As a reminder if you want to try Daily Harvest you can use this Daily Harvest promo code : CLEANEATING to sign up and get up to $40 off your first order!

Build Trust With New Audiences Through Partnerships
Partnerships have become a key part of the direct-to-consumer marketing playbook.
In its simplest form, advertising is about connecting relevant audiences with your message. But when marketers focus purely on reach they run into a problem: reach has become a commodity anyone can now create a Facebook ad and put it in front of an audience.
Attracting eyeballs no longer sets you apart. Building trust among those who have their eyes on you, does. Getting peoples attention is no longer a skill. Keeping peoples attention is.
and this is where partnerships come into their own: Building trust.
Let me explain
When you follow a YouTuber, lets say Casey Neistat, hes built up your trust over hundreds of hours of content and attention.
So when a brand like Samsung works with Casey, it helps the brand to build trust with Caseys audience.
If Samsung is cool with Casey, its cool with me.
Daily Harvest takes a similar approach to partnerships.
YouTube drives significant traffic for Daily Harvest. You might recognize the below chart from earlier, but this time Ive highlighted the YouTube numbers
around 23% of Daily Harvests social traffic comes from YouTube.
Curious as to why so many people come from YouTube to Daily Harvest I done a little digging and it seems partnerships have a lot to do with it.
One the YouTube pages that appears to be sending a lot of traffic to Daily Harvest is from popular YouTuber, Wheezy Waiter :

Daily Harvest Soups Review
I love the Tomato + Zucchini Minestrone Soup. Its full of flavor + so yummy! However, similar to the harvest bowls I find that their soups arent very filling for me.
I really like hearty soups packed with protein, and while I love that these are veggie loaded they dont fill me up for a complete meal.

Does Daily Harvest Fill You Up
This is a hard question to answer because all of our bodies are different. Ive really been diving into Daily Harvest during pregnancy while Im eating 5-6 small meals each day. Ive found that its perfect for that size. And thats honestly how I like to eat most of the time, anyway. Im more of a grazer and not a 3 meals a day kind of person.
However, if youre curious if youll feel full from one of these meals, I think the answer is yes! I feel very satisfied after I finish a Daily Harvest meal. As for how long it will keep you full, that depends on your body size, metabolism rate, etc.
Ive read that lots of people will add a protein powder to their Daily Harvest smoothies or a fried egg to their Harvest Bowls to make them a bit more filling. So if you use the $25 off code and try a box of 9 items, and if you find that theyre not keeping you full for long enough, you could try adding some extra protein!

I used to love to cook, then I became one of those habitually busy people. I am just really much happier when I have loads of things in my planner. 2020 promises to continue this trend for me, as I work full-time, will be in school part-time, and run a few side gigs that I love and refuse to give up. I realize with this hectic schedule, eating healthy is a massive challenge. I decided to give Daily Harvest a try because I am a smoothie and soup addict, and I love more of a plant-based diet.

How To Make Chocolate
Daily Harvest Bites are SO good and do not get me wrong they are absolutely fabulous on their own. They come in seven delicious flavors, each as delicious as the last. Weve got: Hazelnut + Chocolate Bites, Cacao Nib + Vanilla Bites, Coconut + Lemon Bites, Espresso Bean + Tahini Bites, Banana + Cacao Bites, Matcha + Musasaki Bites, and Raspberry + Fig Bites!
ButI wanted to jazz them up a bit, make them a little bit more special, and honestly, with this upgrade, theyre perfect for serving to anyone as a dessert, and theyre so dang good for you!

Daily Harvest Latte Reviews
I LOVE the Daily Harvest Lattes. They make me feel like Im drinking a fancy coffee shop latte from the convenience of my own home.
They take about 2 minutes to make, and are really delicious. My favorite is the chaga + chocolate but I also love the ginger + turmeric.
Something to note with the lattes, in each cup you get 3 individual single serving pods. So youre really getting 3 drinks out of one cup.
Price: How Much Does It Cost
Daily Harvest can be expensive. The quality of the produce and ingredients calls for a hiked-up price tag, and youre going to pay a premium for the convenience as well. Is it worth the price? For me, it wasnt, because Id rather make organic food myself and put time into my own food prep. However, like I said earlier, if youre a person who wont prep healthy food on your own and for whom convenience trumps all else, its worth trying out this smoothie and healthy food delivery service for yourself.
Daily Harvest has a few different subscription plans, and you can mix and match the smoothies, bowls and snacks that best suit your diet. Individual items range from $5.99 to $11.99. When you sign up for a subscription, you can save money on your total order cost. So, for instance, if you choose the 9-item plan, youll save $5 on your order. If you opt for the 24-item monthly plan, youll save $20.

How To Make The Harvest Bakes
In just 20 minutes of baking in their oven-ready tray, you get the elevated flavors of a homemade meal, without actually having to lift a finger! Unlike most meal delivery companies, where you still have to slice, dice, and prep your veggies.
No oven at the office? No problem. Make the Harvest Bakes in a toaster oven!
Overview Of Daily Harvest
Rachel Drori realized that full meals were hard for her to keep up with and found herself regularly snacking on whatever was around because she didnt have time to make healthy meals herself.
In the early days, this brand only delivered pre-packaged and frozen smoothies, but it now carries over 90 options across 11 collections for any craving or time of day. Their collections include Smoothies, Harvest Bowls, Flatbreads, Bites, Scoops , and even Mylk.. No more going without nutrition because of no time!
The brand also takes a regenerative approach only using sustainable practices to reduce food waste, use organic farming practices and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and only implementing recyclable packaging. They are in the process of transitioning all of their packaging to 100% compostable as well!

What Daily Harvest Offers For Breakfast
For the last two weeks, my mornings started with Daily Harvest’s oat or chia bowls or, begrudgingly, their smoothiesbecause I do smoothies really well on my own.
That said, I dont usually add lychee, black sesame, and dragon fruit to my smoothies, so it was fun to explore new worlds of flavor.
One drawback to Daily Harvest’s smoothies , I found, was that they don’t typically offer the 30 grams of protein I’m looking for in terms of muscle building and feeling fullso I’d add a scoop of protein power to hit that amount.
And the oat and chia bowls? They are damn goodand I dont even like chia.
The oat bowls have impressive flavors such as Blueberry + Lemon, Mulberry & Dragon Fruit, Pumpkin & Chai. The chia bowls have Blackberry + Majik and Vanilla Bean + Apple.
Sometimesparticularly after a morning weight workoutI did feel like I need two bowls to fill up, as they range in calories from 230 to 380 calories, but was always satisfied with the flavors and high-quality ingredients.
