It tastes exactly like a fruity, creamy strawberry ice cream, but its not trying to be anything its not. There are no seeds or freeze-dried strawberry bits. This smoothie first happened a few weeks ago when my daughter was sick. She had strep throat and really wanted to eat and but her throat hurt so much. I had recently purchased pina colada juice and she was totally diggin on it. And asked if she could have another glass. I decided to whip it up as a smoothie with some added fruit and coconut milk for more nutrition.
She loved it! And has since asked for again and again. I am pretty smitten too. Especially since Ive been hooked on my banana chocolate smoothie for so long. It reminds me a lot of my recent pineapple coconut smoothie but its definitely its own star of the show! So I had to share with you.

Jack In The Box Adds Smoothies
SAN DIEGOJack in the Box debuted Real Fruit Smoothies on Monday at restaurants in several markets, primarily on the West Coast.
The San Diego-based quick-service chain is scheduled to complete the national rollout of the new beverages by the end of July. As previously announced, the smoothies are made from a blend of Minute Maid fruit juice and nonfat frozen yogurt in three flavors: Strawberry Banana, Mango and Orange Sunrise.
Recommended prices are $2.99 for a 16-ounce and $3.99 for a 24-ounce serving. Participating restaurants in the first phase of the rollout include those in Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii and several markets in California, such as Bakersfield, Chico, El Centro, Eureka, Fresno, Monterey, Palm Springs, Redding, Sacramento, Salinas, San Diego and Santa Barbara.
Jack in the Box Inc. operates or franchises more than 2,100 namesake restaurants, as well as more than 400 Qdoba Mexican Grill units.

Vanilla Ice Cream Shake
Despite falling in dead last on this list, Jack in the Boxs vanilla ice cream shake isnt too bad. The texture is thick and creamy, but the flavor is oddly neutral. I expected it to taste like a rich vanilla ice cream, but it was actually a little lighter than what Im used to. While the shake is totally drinkable and pretty tasty on its own, its kind of a blank slate thats improved by the addition of other flavors.

Its like Im in an alternate universe where Jumbo Jacks, Big Macs and Whoppers are healthy, while vegetables and organic foods are bad for you. It is also a universe where Jared is still the spokesperson for Subway, except Subway makes sub sandwiches the size of actual submarines, and Jared weighs 700 pounds, doesnt know where his penis is, looks like Jabba the Hutt, and hasnt moved his ass off of his couch since 1999.
Actually, there werent any nutritional facts on the Jack in the Box website right now so its hard for me to know if theyre healthy or not. This worries me because fast food joints have the ability to turn something healthy into something thats not, like salads and adults collecting kids meal toys. For all I know, this fast food smoothie might be the most unhealthiest thing on the face of the Earth and they deep fry the bastard when no one is looking. But what I do know for sure is that the Real Fruit Smoothies are made from Minute Maid fruit juice and non-fat frozen yogurt, which sounds somewhat healthy to me, but then again I believe I can get all my daily vegetable servings from eating a full sheet of carrot cake.

Virgin Pina Colada Recipe
Thick, creamy, cold, and refreshing healthier virgin pina colada recipe made with coconut cream and sweetened naturally with pineapple.
Nothing says summer vacation quite like a pina colada. Creamy, cold, sweet, and tropical, pina coladas always make me think of tropical Hawaiian vacations. Though we arent going on a big vacation this summer, we have been blending up plenty of healthy-ish virgin pina colada smoothies.
While most pina coladas are filled with sugar, this version is sweetened naturally with pineapple. Taste-wise though, this virgin pina colada tastes exactly like the ones from hotel pool bars.
I tried to emulate our favorite virgin pina colada smoothies from hotel pools we love like this one at the Bacara Resort. Side note: I took this iPhone picture a few weeks ago. Notice those plastic straws? It looks like they will be banned here in Santa Barbara, which I think is great. At home we use reusable glass straws.
I recently found out that the pina colada is the national drink of Puerto Rico and was likely created with Coco Lopez cream of coconut. I dont recommend this brand, however, as its sweetened with sugar.

El Pollo Loco was a chain in transition before the pandemic.
The former Starbucks executive Bernard Acoca was named the chief executive of the fire-grilled-chicken chain in 2018. He spent the first two years of his tenure investing in talent, branding, and simplifying operations. His next goal was to reboot franchising, but then the pandemic hit.
Plans to grow were stalled as the chain pivoted its operations to cater to off-premises orders. That meant relying more heavily on its drive-thru lanes and its value-oriented healthy chicken meals.
El Pollo Locos drive-thru lanes generated 45% of total sales pre-pandemic. Thats well below the average of 70% to 80% for most fast-food chains, Acoca said. But El Pollo Locos drive-thru business now accounts for 70% of the companys sales.
That pandemic lift is holding steady, Acoca said.
What should have taken six months, we managed to test and launch in literally six weeks, Acoca said of the September rollout of curbside pickup.
