Healthy Blueberry Oatmeal breakfast smoothie for weightloss | 2 minute Blueberry Oats smoothie

I used old fashioned rolled oats for this recipe. You can substitute with quick oats if you would like. Since quick oats are cut finer, you may not need to pulse them in the blender as long.

If your strawberries are sweet, you may not need to add maple syrup, or you may want to use less. You can also use a no-calorie sweetener if preferred, just adjust the amount of sweetener to your personal preference.

Make Blueberry Oat Milk Smoothie Your Way

  • Switch the milk you could change the oat milk for another vegan plant based milk try soya milk, coconut milk or almond milk.
  • Try different berries add in a handful of strawberries or raspberries alongside the blueberries

Why Is This Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie So Good For Breakfast

There is a lot going on here besides just a simple blueberry smoothie. First up are the oats.

Oats are a slow-releasing source of energy meaning you won’t get an initial burst of power and then crash down instead you will have a nice, even amount of pep in your step for a longer period of time.

Next, the protein-packed Greek yogurt. Did you know that the Greek variety has more protein than regular yogurt? Nearly triple the amount! Protein helps to keep your belly feeling full making this ingredient ideal for breakfast time keeping you happily satiated until lunch.

To add some bonus points, I skipped any extra sugar by making this blueberry oatmeal smoothie without banana.

I also supplemented it with some vanilla protein powder.

My naturopath is pretty insistent on me getting a LOT more protein in my diet and adding a scoop or two of a clean protein powder is such an easy way to do that.

Dairy Vs Nondairy Smoothies

Since I have no problem with dairy, I make this smoothie with yogurt, but you could substitute almond milk for the yogurt if you want to avoid it.

Add a few drops of lemon or lime juice to replicate the tanginess of the yogurt if your smoothie isnt tart enough for your taste. You could also use any other non-dairy milk or yogurt interchangeably here.

Can I Make This Almond Milk Smoothie Without Ice

Ice is optional in this recipe. Ice has its pros and cons. Ice adds to the consistency and makes the smoothie cold and a bit more refreshing. I like my smoothies ice cold vs luke-warm so If I go without ice, I will be sure to use frozen fruit, including freezing bananas ahead of time.

    Greens ~ Feel free to use your favorite leafy greens. Kale, chard, even romaine or spring salad greens would work well.

    Sweeteners ~ Try adding a banana instead of pure maple syrup or dates. Its naturally sweet and will add extra creaminess to the drink.

    Pro tip: Use a frozen banana and skip the ice.

    A gut-loving breakfast smoothie thats nourishing, SO creamy and tasty and will keep you full for hours! The Creamy Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie is vegan, takes 5 minutes to make and is so delicious that even your kids will wolf it down.

    Like a lot of my recipes, I thought of this concoction while trying to fall asleep one night. In my half-asleep state, I was convinced it would be delicious, and I wasnt wrong!
