Frozen Raspberries. I love using frozen raspberries because it makes for s super thick, almost soft-serve consistency. But, you can definitely use fresh berries as well! Switch it up and try mixed berries, strawberries, or even blueberries!

Banana. I used a fresh banana that I had on hand, but if you freeze your bananas thats definitely welcome!

Milk. Any kind! You can use whole milk, oat milk, almond milk whatever your favorite milk if, feel free to use it!

Kale or Spinach. I keep a bag of frozen kale in my freezer, so I use that, but feel free to customize whatever you have on hand!

Ice. The ice really bumps up the thickness and the chill factor here!

Agave Nectar. My raspberries were pretty tart, so I used agave nectar to balance out and sweeten up this smoothie. Feel free to use honey or maple syrup instead!

How To Make A Raspberry Smoothie

The ingredients for this smoothie are pretty basic. Youll need some apple juice, banana, frozen raspberries, honey, and vanilla Greek yogurt. Frozen raspberries are naturally quite tart, so you do need to add a little sweetness in the form of the juice and honey to counteract that.

If youd rather not use apple juice, you can substitute almond milk, coconut milk or cows milk, just be aware that you might need to add a little more sweetener to compensate. This recipe calls for unsweetened raspberries, some stores sell the bags of raspberries that contain sugar. Be sure to read your labels to make sure youre buying the correct berries!

You can use this same smoothie base and swap out the raspberries for blueberries or strawberries for a different experience. I try to always keep the ingredients for this easy smoothie on hand so that I can whip one up when the mood strikes.

Theres just one thing we havent discussed yet: the beautiful color of this raspberry smoothie! You know its gotta be good when its almost too pretty to drink!

How To Make A Blackberry Raspberry Smoothie

Some of my favorite childhood memories are of picking blackberries. They grow wild in the mountains of West Virginia, and every summer, wed head into the mountains in our beat-up old truck with buckets to pick as many as we could.

The trick was trying not to eat more blackberries than you put in your bowl, but as a kid who loves berries, that was a tough one. Suffice it to say that our parents did most of the berry picking while us kids did most of the berry eating .

After picking gallons of blackberries, wed come home and start putting them away for later in the year. Wed freeze some in gallon baggies in the freezer. Mom would turn some into blackberry jam .

Raspberries also grow wild there, though not as frequently, but there were several patches in the hollow where we lived. Wed walk and eat handfuls of those, too.

Back then, I didnt like my foods mixed. Not many kids do, right? But if I had thought of this blackberry raspberry smoothie then, Im sure I would have loved it.

Smoothie Recipe For Kids

Orange Raspberry Smoothie

Smoothies are a fantastic way to get nutrients into a picky child, so dont hesitate to whip out the blender if you cant get your kid to eat fruits and vegetables. However, do bear in mind that smoothies are high in sugar and calories, and they should not be drunk excessively. They are a great way to get some vitamins into your kid, but this must be balanced.

Its often a good idea to make a smoothie recipe for kids based on ingredients that your child likes, perhaps with one or two ingredients that they arent so keen on. For example, if you cant get your child to eat kale, try blending a little in with bananas and strawberries. If your child hates carrots, consider making a carrot and apple smoothie.

If your child doesnt like what you make, try other ingredients next time. This is a good way to boost their vitamin intake.

Everyone, from kids to teens to adults loves smoothies

Kids and teens, even those who loathe eating their fruits, and have to be cajoled into eating a piece of fruit – love them.

Smoothies are “cool” drinks, and a healthy alternative to sugar-packed sodas!

Even many adults who prefer not to have an alcoholic drink, enjoy fruit smoothies as an exciting and adult alternative at social functions and get-togethers.

How Do You Keep A Raspberry Smoothie Fresh

The best time to consume this smoothie is directly after making it. Everything is still fresh, cold, and well combined.

However, if you want to drink it later, a Low Carb Raspberry Smoothie can be stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Store it in an airtight container, not your blender. Fill the container to the very top to keep any air out. Otherwise, the smoothie can pick up odors from nearby foods. If the smoothie separates, you can just give it a mix to blend everything back together. The colour of the smoothie might change as avocado oxidizes but it shouldnt affect the flavour.

Alternatively, you can freeze the raspberry smoothie if you cant finish it. To do so, you can add the smoothie to a glass mason jar, leaving some head room. Next, freeze the smoothie for up to 2 months. When ready to enjoy, allow the smoothie to thaw overnight in the fridge. Give the smoothie a stir before enjoying.

Smoothie With Peanut Butter And Banana

How to Make a Raspberry Smoothie

A very classic and much-loved combination, a smoothie with peanut butter and banana will go down well at any event. It is highly nutritious and provides a great boost of energy, as well as having a delicious flavor.

You will need to add some milk or plant milk to make this smoothie thin enough to drink because if you just blend bananas and peanut butter, it will be far too thick. You can also add a bit of honey to sweeten it if you prefer.

How to Make Super Easy Raspberry Smoothies

Before we get started, I want to give you a quick heads up about one of the ingredients. The ice in this recipe is optional.

It may sound strange, but over the years Ive seen so many comments on smoothie recipes regarding their thickness. Some people love a thick smoothie while others prefer a thinner texture.

In the numbered photos below and in the video , I did not add ice. That way you could see what the smoothie looks like without it.

Its rather thin but pours easily. For the finished photos , I used ice along with the other ingredients.

The very beginning and end of the video show the exact same glass and raspberry smoothie. Its nice, thick, and well blended, but obviously not as thin as before the ice was added.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention the differences and why the ice was listed as optional. Its a preference and up to you if youd like to add it.

To make the raspberry banana smoothie, add all the ingredients to the blender. Check your blenders user manual to see if theres a certain order that they need to be added.

Close the lid, and blend until smooth. Taste and add more honey or another banana if desired.

I used 1 large banana for the recipe pictured but have used 2 small bananas in the past. The amount of honey I use varies depending on the sweetness of the fruit, but normally its around 1 tablespoon.

Pour the smoothie into glasses, garnish with fresh fruit and a straw, and enjoy!

Can You Use Ice Cream In Place Of Greek Yogurt In A Smoothie

Yes, you certainly can use ice cream in place of yogurt. Many chain, quick-service smoothie bars use ice cream as a base in smoothies. However, if you are nutrition conscience or trying to watch your calories, ice cream is going to add additional calories and sugar that may not be present otherwise.

    Smoothie Recipe With Banana

Any smoothie recipe with banana is on the road to success. This fruit is vital in so many blended recipes because it makes the smoothie live up to its name by giving it a smooth, thick, satisfying texture.

Without banana, some smoothies seem gritty and unpleasant, so try any smoothie recipe with banana added in for really great texture.

    Are Smoothies Bad For You

It depends on the ingredients in a smoothie! If you use bad ingredients, the smoothie will not be healthy.

Many smoothie chains put ingredients in their smoothies that are not at all healthy! Some popular chains use things like sherbert and sugar water in their “smoothies”.

This makes them sweet, but not at all healthy for you!

This is the main reason that I love making my own smoothies because I can control the ingredients in them and I know exactly what my family and I are eating and drinking.
