Ingredients You Need:
1. Matcha green tea

How To Make This Anti
1. Gather your ingredients. Grind the flaxseed, measure all the other ingredients.
See below the piece of fresh ginger and fresh turmeric. Peel the skin off both using a knife or spoon showing the flesh inside. The turmeric is the bright orange and the ginger more of a light yellow. Snip off a small piece for this anti-inflammatory smoothie. *For storage tips and more, see further down this post.
The plate below shows the ground flaxseed, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, small piece of turmeric and a small piece of ginger.
2. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend for about one minute until all ingredients are combined. Having a quality, efficient, accessible blender makes all the difference in keeping true to your smoothie habits. Mine in on my counter.
3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Orange Banana Protein Shake
One banana , one orange , two teaspoons vanilla extract, ¼ cup low-fat milk or almond milk, ½ cup rolled oats.
This diabetic smoothie is great for people who want to add a little more bulk and substance in their diet with the addition of some oatmeal which gives it a nice dose of fiber as well. The banana will give you extra potassium while also providing your body with tryptophan an enzyme that can be used by the body to create serotonin helping reduce appetite! Not only is this shake delicious but itll boost energy levels too thanks to iron from the oats combined with Vitamin C from oranges.

Bottom Line: If weight loss is your goal, steer clear of any beverage with calories, from soft drinks to sugary teas to smoothies to fruit juices. Liquid calories, no matter their source, will not curb your appetite as well as solid foods do.

Lets establish something first. Inflammation is not always a bad thing.
Its your bodys natural response to start the healing process .
Chronic conditions such as arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis involve chronic inflammation.
Acute and chronic inflammation are different and should be addressed differently.
When I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, nutrition helped me so much in managing acute inflammation.
I wanted to do things as naturally as possible and adopting a long-term approach to healing.
Curcumin or turmeric contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
There are a lot of studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of turmeric in reducing joint pain and symptoms of arthritis .
Smoothies are one of the best ways to supplement with turmeric .
Its barely noticeable when mixed with other fruits or greens. You can also add additional anti-inflammatory foods to make it even extra healthy!
I have a list of non-negotiable that I add to my smoothies and I always try to stick to it 90% of the time .
Heres my list of non-negotiable:
- Turmeric. Use fresh whenever possible.
- Healthy fats
- Flax meal
Im using a green base . But you can use kale or even lettuce
You can also add a protein like plain Greek yogurt , protein powder, or hemp seeds.

Foods That Cause Inflammation
A food is considered inflammatory when your body recognizes it as a threat on some level, and dispatches its immune response team to the scene. The ensuing battle can happen throughout the entire digestive tract, and into the bloodstream as the food breaks down.
