If you want to see how many people suffer from Adrenal Fatigue, just take a look around you. How many of your friends and family complain of being continually tired or having a weak immune system? How To Meal Prep A Green Smoothie

One of the things I love about smoothies is how easy they are to meal prep in advance. You can just chop the fruit, wash the greens, portion them and place them in the freezer ready to blend whenever you fancy having a smoothie. I love to place the fruit in glass jars but I have to admit that getting the frozen chunks of fruit out can be a bit of a challenge if you are in a hurry.

To make your life easier, you can use reusable freezer bags, or just make sure your glass jar has a big opening. Plus leave it out of the freezer for 10-15 minutes before blending.

Once you are ready, just place the portioned ingredients in the blender, add your liquid and superfood adds-in.

If you use frozen greens and fruit, your smoothie will be much thicker to start with. I like it that way, especially in the summer. If you prefer a more liquid version, you can either add more liquid or let it rest for a few extra minutes before drinking it.

TIP OF THE DAY: When I am in a hurry, and its wintertime here, as much as I love meal prep, I really dont want to be drinking a frozen smoothie. So I place my blended green smoothie in the microwave for 30 seconds and voila! I have a perfect room-temperature delicious smoothie.

Green Tea Blueberry And Banana Smoothie

To prepare this smoothie featuring antioxidant-rich green tea, simply heat 3 Tbsp. of water in a bowl in the microwave until its steaming hot. Then, add 1 green tea bag and allow it to brew for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bag and stir in 2 tsp. honey until it dissolves. Combine 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, 1/2 medium banana, and 3/4 cup calcium-fortified light vanilla soy milk into a blender. Add the tea and process all ingredients until smooth.

    2 large beets, peeled and sliced

    2 carrots, trimmed

    1 small apple, peeled, cored, and sliced

    a handful of spinach

    1/4 cup of water

    Juice all of the ingredients in order, ending with a bit of water. This is an iron-rich, replenishing tonic thats also a liver cleanser.

    2 green apples, peeled, cored and sliced

    1 cup honeydew melon, peeled and chopped

    1 cup seedless green grapes

    1 handful spinach or kale

    1/2 a cucumber, peeled and sliced

    Put all of these ingredients through your juicer in order, and drink immediately. Its best if the fruit has been in the fridge for a while so the drink is nice and cold.

    Banana Almond Protein Smoothie

    Creamy almond butter offers healthy fats, while coconut water helps restore electrolytes after a tough workout. Greek yogurt and a scoop of whey keep the protein content high.

    In a blender, add 1/2 cup coconut water, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 3 Tbsp. almond butter, 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1 Tbsp. hemp seeds, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup ice. Process until smooth, serves 2.

    I prefer making this green smoothie right when I am about to consume it. It is better to make it fresh. Enjoy this three ingredients energy booster smoothie first thing in the morning followed by your favorite breakfast.

    For variations, you can add sunflower seeds or flax seeds in your smoothie. You can also add some more green leafy vegetables like kale, arguala etc.

    Adrenal Fatigue is a syndrome, meaning that it encompasses multiple systems and aspects of your health. This also makes it a very difficult condition to diagnose for a typical MD, whose training is typically focused on more acute conditions. In other words, MDs are great when you have an acute condition that sends you to hospital, but they’re not so helpful when faced with multiple symptoms and general complaints of feeling ‘tired and unwell’.

    Did you know that MDs receive less than one day of nutrition training during their entire 4 years at medical school? A 2006 study found that the average MD received only 23.9 hours on this vitally important subject. Modern healthcare has drifted away from promoting things like nutrition, emotional wellness, and exercise, and has become almost exclusively focused on treating acute, life-threatening conditions. Again, that’s not so helpful if you are suffering from a condition like Adrenal Fatigue.

    There are other reasons why doctors are unable to make a diagnosis of Adrenal Fatigue.
