But I have started experimenting more with canned fruits. Canned fruit is also picked and canned at peak ripeness so the fruit is always flavorful. What I don’t love about canned fruit is that sometimes it comes in heavy syrup. I am not a fan of canned fruit in heavy syrup. I always look for canned fruit in juice. I will pick that every single time.

Whenever we have fruit that is on its last leg, I clean it up and put add it to a freezer safe bag in the freezer. I peel the bananas and break them in half, then stash them in a bag. So whenever you need frozen fruit for anything, you have some on hand, and dont always have to buy bags of frozen fruit at the store. Frozen fruit can be expensive, but if you consistently have just a few strawberries that are about to go bad, or raspberries that dont get eaten, you can save them for smoothies, and always have them available.

You can definitely put whole strawberries in a smoothie. So if you have them leftover or buy them frozen, whole or sliced strawberries work great.

What Milk To Use

When first starting you may wonder, what is the right plant based milk to use? There are so many out there: almond, coconut, cashew, and oat milk. There is no one right answer. Its best to taste test and see what plant based milk tastes best for you. Often for lattes people prefer oat milk. Yet for smoothies, you really cant go wrong.

The plant based milks I use often are almond and coconut milk. Youll want to select an unsweetened product, so that there is less sugar. You could use cows milk in this recipe.
