Can Smoothies Be Frozen
Sure smoothies can be frozen. Freezing smoothies might seem like a great idea but I dont think its necessary.
No one wants to drink a smoothie that has been frozen for hours. The purpose of a smoothie drink is to have a light refreshing drink as easily and quickly as you can.
Whether thats first thing in the morning or before or after your workout.
Instead of freezing your smoothie, I think a better idea would be to freeze the smoothie ingredients.
4 Steps To freezing Your Weight Loss Smoothies
And for the liquid ingredients, protein powders or yogurt, you can just add them into your smoothie to be blended directly.
Can Smoothies be left in the Fridge overnight?
I leave my smoothie in the fridge overnight all the time and you can too.
Sometimes I make my smoothie on the night before so I can enjoy them in the morning, usually as a pre-workout.
If you want to leave your smoothie overnight, just know it might change its colour just slightly.

Do Drinking Smoothies Really Burn Fat
Drinking smoothies is a great way to replace meals, lose weight, and burn fat. However, it is vital to be careful about what ingredients you add to a smoothie. Some smoothies can quickly become a blend of sugar and flavorings with little nutritional value if you use the wrong foods. Many smoothies use fruits with plenty of flavors and natural sugar or rely on a blend of vegetables and dairy or non-dairy milk.
Try to avoid adding sugar to smoothies, as it can lead to consuming an excess of calories and still leave you feeling hungry later. Create smoothies using healthy foods that are a significant source of fiber, protein, vitamins, and nutrients to keep your body fueled and energize your metabolism. If you feel compelled to add sugar, opt for stevia, honey, or sweeteners low in calories and not heavily processed.
A creamy smoothie filled with ingredients that target fat, encourage weight loss, or curb your appetite and cravings for sugar is helpful. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a fruit-based smoothie, or feed your gut microbiome with a Greek-yogurt-based smoothie blended with fiber-rich veggies. There are so many types of smoothies to try and enjoy youll never be bored or stumped for satisfying, nourishing ingredients.

Adding More Nutrition To This Pumpkin Smoothie
Not only is this pumpkin smoothie super creamy, but theres over 17g protein and 8g fiber per serving, making it a fabulous post-workout smoothie or afternoon snack to keep you fueled up. There are also several easy ways to boost the nutrition of this smoothie by adding any of the following ingredients:
- Flaxseed meal: this is one of my favorite ingredients to add to smoothies for a little boost of fiber and minerals, and is especially great for nursing mamas as flaxseed can help increase milk supply. Usually a tablespoon is plenty! Heres a brand I love.
- Chia seeds: feel free to add in a tablespoon of chia seeds to your smoothie for a boost of healthy fats and fiber.
- Hemp seeds: if youve been wondering what to do with those hemp seeds lurking in your cupboard, feel free to throw in a tablespoon into your smoothie for a boost of healthy fats, omegas and minerals.
- Extra protein: add additional protein by using 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder. I recommend Vital Protein collagen peptides or Bobs Red Mill Plant Based Vanilla Protein Powder.

Savory Weight Loss Smoothies
A smoothie can be a lot of things: a pre- or post-workout boost, a cold and refreshing thirst quencher, a thick and creamy dessert, a perfectly balanced breakfast. But one thing most of us never think of when we think of smoothies: comfort food.
These recipes, from the book Zero Belly Smoothies, stake out a new territory in the smoothie landscape, a culinary point of departure into a taste realm you might not have considered. While these smoothies are still cold and refreshing, they’re going to taste more like a savory soup than a bright pick-me-up.

Pumpkin Smoothie Ingredients + Substitutions
- coconut milk I love how rich and creamy this smoothie is with canned coconut milk, but if you dont have canned coconut milk, feel free to use your favorite milk instead.
- pumpkin puree either canned pumpkin or homemade pumpkin puree works. You could also use canned butternut squash!
- pumpkin pie spice use store-bought pumpkin pie spice or make your own.
- Medjool dates You can buy medjool dates that are already pitted or pit them yourself . Two brands that I like are Natural Delights and Joolies. You can find Natural Delights in the produce section of most grocery stores and Joolies are offered and Thrive Market.
- hemp seeds I added hemp seeds for an added protein boost.
- whipped cream I love using coconut whipped cream
Low sugar option: you can swap the medjool dates for a low calorie, sugar alternative like stevia or monk fruit.
Added protein option: add a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder or some plain Greek yogurt. These additions will likely thicken up the smoothie so you may need to add more milk!

What Are Pumpkin Seeds And What Do They Have To Do With Weight Loss
Pumpkin seeds are generally small and have a hard shell, which is often used in making jewelry. However, behind that hard shell, there is an edible kernel that many sources say can help with weight loss when consumed.
The pumpkin seeds weight loss myth has been around for ages. Its not clear why some people think that they can eat a lot of them and still lose weight. In fact, some cultures actually believe that pumpkin seeds promote healthy hair growth because of the chemical compounds in these little treats.
The truth is that there is no scientific evidence for the link between raw pumpkin seeds and weight loss. There are some people who believe this myth because they simply love the taste of these seeds and feel like eating them satisfies their appetite for a long time. Others actually think that pumpkin seeds are a low-calorie food, but this isnt true at all. As with other nuts and seeds, pumpkin seeds contain a substantial amount of fat and a number of calories in a small serving.
Why Is Pure Pumpkin Good For You

Consuming Pumpkin For Weight Loss
Eating pumpkin can be integrated into a healthy, balanced diet to help you lose weight. However, the amount of pumpkin you can consume will depend on the type of diet you’re following.
Consider your diet and its restrictions. Many diets can help with weight loss. For instance, certain diets, like the high-carbohydrate diet, want you to primarily consume low-fat, plant-based foods. Other diets, like low-carb and ketogenic diets, restrict your carbohydrate consumption.
According to the Mayo Clinic, most low-carb diets restrict carbohydrate intake to between 20 and 60 carbohydrates per day. However, carbohydrate restriction only refers to net carbs. The Mayo Clinic states that net carbs are essentially carbohydrates minus dietary fiber, or carbohydrates minus both dietary fiber and sugar alcohols.
A cup of cooked pumpkin has 9.3 net carbs. This means that strict low-carb dieters would be limited to around 2.5 cups per day, assuming that no other fruits, vegetables or other plant-based products were being consumed that day. It’s much healthier to consume a varied diet, so substantial pumpkin consumption and strict low-carb diets are consequently not very compatible.
In contrast, plant-based diets and high-carbohydrate diets would allow you to consume as much pumpkin as you want each day. These diets focus on reducing your fat intake rather than your carbohydrate intake â which isn’t an issue given the minimal amount of fat in pumpkin.
