The Best Green Smoothie
There are a lot of green smoothie recipes out there on the internet, and when a smoothie is easy enough to whip up without one, you may wonder why you even need a recipe. After making green smoothies for my kids for years, this is the one they have deemed the best green smoothie by affectionally calling them monster smoothies. Just a few ingredients give you a delicious and healthy option for breakfast or a snack anytime of day.
I love having a pretty green color when I make green smoothies, and keeping the main ingredients to spinach, frozen pineapple, and frozen mango gives you that tropical flavor with a pretty green. To get some berry flavor and a boost of probiotics, I add strawberry kefir. I started drinking kefir a few years ago and adding it to smoothies and I love the creamy texture and flavor that it gives. Not to mention the health benefits from the natural probiotics and extra protein since kefir contains more protein than yogurt.
My kids are good eaters, but theyre not exactly diving into a spinach salad and I want to get extra veggies in wherever I can. My tropical carrot turmeric smoothie and these green smoothies are my two go-to options. I make them to go with their breakfast or as an afternoon snack at least a few times a week! With my husband working from home right now, Ill make an extra large batch for all five of us to enjoy. I hope you and your family love this recipe and agree that its the best green smoothie recipe!
Breville Super Q Blender
I was impressed with how quiet the Breville was compared to other high-powered blenders. Yes, it’s still a high-speed blender so it won’t be soundproof, yet it does take the ambience down a notch when blending. I also love the design and that it comes with a personal blender attachment at no extra charge.
- PROS: Quieter, 1800 watts, includes personal blender attachment, dishwasher safe, 64 ounce container, one-touch settings, 7-year warranty, can add on the Vac Q
- CONS: Doesn’t have many attachments
- RETAIL PRICE: $499.95
The Flavor And Recipe Variations:
- I buy a big bag of spinach from Costco and stick it straight in my freezer. Then I just grab out the handfuls as I need them.
- I buy my frozen fruit from Costco as well so it is easily accessible when I am making a smoothie.
- Freeze bananas to easily add them into smoothies as needed.
- I love to add avocado into my smoothies or a handful of carrots to get a few extra veggies.
- You can use kale, swiss chard, and arugula in your smoothie instead of spinach.

Could Improve Certain Aspects Of Health
Research shows that increasing fruit and vegetable consumption may improve many aspects of your health.
For example, adding more produce to your diet by drinking whole fruit and vegetables in your green smoothies may help reduce your risk of heart disease and certain cancers and help you live longer .
However, remember that these health benefits have more to do with consuming fresh fruits and vegetables than consuming smoothies themselves. It all comes back to fresh, nutritious ingredients.
Prioritize getting enough whole fruits and vegetables in your diet. If green smoothies help you reach the recommended intake of at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, then green smoothies can be your key to healthy living.
Keep in mind that the average U.S. adult consumes only 1 serving of fruit and 1.5 servings of vegetables per day, so adding a green smoothie to your daily diet may be an excellent choice .
Green smoothies are nutritious and easy to make, and they may help you meet the recommended intake for nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Best Green Smoothie Recipes For Weight Loss And Health Issues
During my 6-year, 450-city lecture tour, I always spent an hour after each lecture to meet attendees who had questions for me.
I heard many heartbreaking stories of failing health, of years of fruitless doctor visits and pills and surgeries, of scary diagnoses. And I also saw hope, because those who came learned about food as medicine and green smoothies as the 10-minute habit that could help them regain their health.
Food really is medicine. And eating the right kind can cure things that pills, surgeries, and specialists couldn’t fix.
Each of the following collections of green smoothie recipes addresses a health issue, its likely underlying causes, and ways to tweak your daily green smoothie to encourage recovery and healing.

Which Greens To Use For Smoothies
You can use most leafy greens in smoothies. The most popular are spinach, kale, romaine, and chard. All of these greens are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, but spinach, chard, and kale pack an extra nutritional punch with high amounts of iron and fiber.
Spinach and romaine will taste very mild and neutral in your smoothie. While kale and chard are still fairly mild, their flavors will be more apparent when compared to spinach.
- Mango or Pineapple. Of all the fruit Ive tried, these two do the absolute best job of hiding the taste of the greens. They make the smoothie taste like a tropical breath of fresh air! You can use one of these two or a mix of both with excellent results. Pineapple is the most effective at hiding the taste of greens in smoothies, especially stronger green like kale.
- Frozen Banana. I always recommend using frozen banana in green smoothies. It makes the smoothie creamy, thick, and naturally sweet, without the need to add sugar. If youd like to make a green smoothie with no banana, add more of the other fruit in this recipe, plus some yogurt for creaminess.
