Blueberry Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

If youre looking for a protein hit, then be sure to add your favorite protein powder just before you go to blend it. I find about one tablespoon more than enough.

One thing I love to do with smoothies is to mix it in with some homemade granola. Its absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend that you give it a try.

If you do have some leftovers, you can freeze it down in an ice-cube tray. Next time, you can blend the frozen smoothie cubes whenever you feel like a sweet cold smoothie.

There are many other changes that you can make to the recipe, so feel free to tinker. If you find a superb combination be sure to let us know in the comments at the bottom of this page.

Are Drinking Smoothies Healthy

Oregon Transplant: Raspberry Blueberry Smoothies

The smoothies that I make use whole ingredients and foods that my family considered healthy!

Most of my smoothies do not contain added sugar or sweeteners of any kind .

The combination of whole, real ingredients and no added sweeteners equal a healthy smoothie in my opinion that is perfectly healthy to drink every single day!

If you are purchasing smoothies made at a restaurant or chain, you need to look carefully at the ingredients in order to determine for yourself if the ingredients are healthy or not.

Blueberry Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite berry smoothie recipes, a blueberry raspberry smoothie. This recipe was done with milk and banana.

This tasty and filling berry smoothie could replace your breakfast. I recommend using frozen berries but you can obviously use fresh berries as well. If you want, you can also use a frozen banana. This will turn this smoothie into nice cream.

Using berries in smoothies is something I do very often. I love that they contain almost the entire spectrum of minerals and vitamins. Not only that, they are also loaded with antioxidants that help cleanse the body.

For this recipe, I combined two berries: blueberries and raspberries. This is a common combination that just always works. Highly recommended! I dont really think this smoothie requires any additional sweetening, but if you want it to be sweeter you can add honey or maple syrup to it.

I find the bright color of this berry drink attractive. Oh, and did I mention it is delicious?

How To Store And Freeze

Delicious Blueberry Raspberry Smoothie
  • If you have leftovers or want to save your smoothie for later, pour it into an airtight covered container, such as a Mason jar, and refrigerate it for up to two days.
  • To freeze your smoothie, pour it into an airtight freezer bag or freezer container, preferably plastic. If you use glass, use a wide-mouthed jar and leave at least 2 inches of headspace to allow for expansion. Freeze the smoothie for up to three months defrost in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. If the smoothie separates after defrosting, shake or blend it for a few seconds.

Make The Recipe Healthier

There are a ton of health benefits to both blueberries and raspberries that make this smoothie surprisingly healthy for you.

If you leave the honey out and opt for healthier variations of dairy, then this would be a super healthy smoothie.

Ready to watch how to make this delicious blueberry & raspberry smoothie, then be sure to check out the video below. It goes through everything you need to know for getting this recipe blended and ready for drinking.

If you just want the text version of the smoothie recipe, then you can find it underneath the video.

Preparing The Smoothie Bowl

The hardest part of this recipe is prepping your ingredients, which takes no time at all. Using the 4″ Gourmet Paring Knife, hull the strawberries and cut them in half . This makes blending a bit easier because the fruit is smaller.

Using the same knife, cut the avocado in half and then into quarters and remove the seed. Using the knife, cut out the flesh from one quarter of the avocado and dice.

Place all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. If you need it to be thicker, simply add some more ice.

Divide the mixture between two bowls and use whatever toppings you prefer. We used some of the fruit as well as some chocolate nibs and pumpkin seeds. Adding some crunch on top is the perfect ending to this dish.

The overall flavor of this Strawberry, Raspberry and Blueberry Smoothie Bowl is light and refreshing. Its a great way to start your day with a healthy and satisfying breakfast.

How Do You Make A Mixed Berry Smoothie

This mixed berry smoothie is simply frozen berries, banana, vanilla Greek yogurt, liquid of your choice, and sweetener if you desire. I buy bags of mixed frozen berries and always have a few in the freezer for when a smoothie craving strikes. I typically make these smoothies with apple juice as it eliminates the need to add any sweetener later on. Other liquid choices are skim milk, almond milk, coconut milk or even a cranberry juice would be nice. When I do sweeten smoothies, I typically reach for a little honey. Like I said, its really not needed here if youre using juice, but you may want to add some if you go with a less sweet liquid like skim milk.

I have an insanely picky 3 year old, and on days when I cant get her to eat more than 2 bites of anything, these mixed berry smoothies are a lifesaver. Nutrients, protein, fiber and they happen to be her favorite color, bright pink! So while this may be a simple recipe, its definitely worthy of sharing for all of you out there who are trying to get your families to eat healthier. Hope you enjoy!

Healthy Raspberry Blueberry Smoothie

Make-ahead freezer friendly smoothies that are healthy, nutritious and so refreshing for your mornings!

Ever since I started to work from home, I need every excuse to get out of the house into the real world. Thats when I started to walk down the street to Starbucks and the donut store for a morning treat before I start my work day. But obviously the donut calories are not doing me any kind of justice. So with bikini season right around the corner, I decided to change up my morning routine with a healthy green smoothie.

But instead of having a green-green smoothie, I decided to throw in some frozen berries that I had on hand. Now I love all kinds of berries but Ive found that blueberries and raspberries make a great flavor combo. Plus, youll get that extra antioxidant boost! From there, I also added in a banana for some natural sweetness and old fashioned oats to keep you nice and full until lunch time.

You can also freeze individual smoothie packs in a Ziploc bag using your favorite combination of fruits. You can have a different smoothie every day, and it doesnt get easier than throwing everything straight from the Ziploc bag to the blender! Theres absolutely no thawing needed. All you need to is add your milk and oats when youre ready to blend. Super easy, right?

Raspberry Blueberry Banana Smoothie

Im sitting on the sofa and looking out at the window and all I can see is a blurry view of my neighbourhood. Yes, it is still hazy in Sunny Singapore. I wished all that white thingy in the air right now is just snow. Yeay, snow in Singapore. Oh well, a girl can dream right? And we girls dont just dream of makeup, clothes or handbags. Some of us girls have bigger dreams in life. I personally would like to study at Le Cordon Bleu or Notter School Of Pastry Arts but If I keep spending $547898798 at the supermarket every time, this isnt going to take place. Fine, I am digressing.

Moving on..

I absolutely love milkshakes. You know the ice cream + milk combo. It is not something I have often cause I know its isnt healthy. Damn you calories. I still need my creamy cold fix time to time, so a smoothie is the perfect replacement because it is:

Cold

Healthy

Yup, it has all the important elements. What kind of awesome is that?

A smoothie is so versatile, you can pump it with more nutrients if you prefer. Ingredients like almond butter, flax meal, Chia and protein powder can easily be incorporated in your smoothie. There is no processed sugar in this Raspberry Blueberry Banana Smoothie. I have added some honey in here, but you can also use agave or splenda.

  • ¾ cup low-fat vanilla yogurt or greek yogurt
  • ½ cup milk
  • Sweetener of your choice
  • Combine all ingredients together in a blender and puree until smooth.
  • Add more water or milk if you prefer a thinner smoothie.
