Health Benefits Of Pears
Pears are also rich in flavonoid antioxidants which means they’re a perfect base for an anti-inflammatory smoothie. They promote heart health, weight loss, and gut health as they’re packed with fiber. The cool thing about pears is they contain soluble and insoluble fiber. This can not only relieve constipation, but also promote good gut bacteria. Since a lot of probiotics can be triggering for people with migraine, this is a good option to incorporate.
Part of the nutritional benefit of pears is found in the skin, so I like to leave mine on for this recipe and if you have a high speed blender, like Vitamix, it shouldn’t be an issue. This is where I also like to spend a little more and get the organic pears.

Apple And Lemondetox Staple Ingredients
Apple and lemon are excellent foods to use to flush out the toxins that your body stores. I like to use them often in many of my smoothies. I was blessed with both an apple and lemon tree in my backyard so its as easy as plucking them when theyre almost ripe. If you dont have access to organic produce, try to find an organic source to avoid pesticides. Another food that flies under the radar often is cinnamon. It seems to only come out over the holidays, gets sprinkled over a pie or two, and then disappears into the far recesses of the pantry until its needed again. To those who do this, I ask you why? Cinnamon is one of the healthiest spices you can incorporate in your diet, so use it more often. Cinnamon is known to provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, immunity-boosting and potential cancer and heart disease-protecting capabilities.
The other key ingredients in this detoxing smoothie are beets and acai powder. Acai has a lovely tart flavor, and its an excellent source of protective antioxidants, omega fatty acids, amino acids, and dietary fiber. It also provides a good amount of vitamin Aover 20 percent of the daily recommended amount. I like to use the 8-ounce serving of the Navitas range because its organic, non-GMO, freeze-dried, and gluten-free.

Foods That Cause Inflammation
A food is considered inflammatory when your body recognizes it as a threat on some level, and dispatches its immune response team to the scene. The ensuing battle can happen throughout the entire digestive tract, and into the bloodstream as the food breaks down.
This immune response causes inflammation, and if you continue to eat the foods that trigger the response, this inflammation can never resolve, leading to any number of chronic conditions and disease as various systems wear themselves out from fighting the food invaders. Its like feeding yourself a chronic infection that continually signals the immune response, and thus, creates inflammation.
Its best to avoid these inflammation-causing foods, whether or not you think you have active symptoms of inflammatory disease. Remember, some forms of inflammation dont announce themselves by giving you pain or discomfort–but they wear away at your body nonetheless.
Foods that cause inflammation include: 4
- Sugar in foods and drinks
- Meat including red meat as well as poultry and pork
- Processed meat like hot dogs, bologna, or sausage
- Dairy products milk, cheese
- Refined carbohydrates including white bread and pastries
- Fried foods like French fries or greasy chips
- Solid fats such as margarine, shortening, or lard

Day Anti Inflammatory Diet Overview
If youve been noticing the term 21-Day anti-inflammatory diet plenty recently, youre not alone. Studies link prolonged inflammation to several chronic wellness conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.
While most of these conditions are connected to genetics, growing foods are proven to lessen inflammation and sticking to a healthy lifestyle such as exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, quitting smoking, and reducing stress plays a vital role in decreasing inflammation.
The anti-inflammatory diet is quite similar to the Mediterranean diet, which time and again ranks as the healthiest diet thanks to its various benefits.
Both diets highlight massive amounts of antioxidant-rich foods such as dark leafy vegetables, raspberries, and strawberries, in addition to high consumption of healthy fats and seafood such as salmon.
The anti-inflammatory diet limits intake of refined grains such as white pasta, massive amounts of processed foods, and sugar.
You wont find plenty of meat such as beef and pork, but you can expect plenty of chicken, fish, and vegan proteins such as legumes and nuts.

Why Is Inflammation Bad
Since inflammation is your bodys natural response to fight infection or heal injury, it seems like its something you wouldnt want to stop.
However, not all inflammation is good. In some cases, the immune system mistakenly attacks the bodys own cellscausing pain and swelling unnecessarily.
This process can result in chronic inflammation or chronic inflammatory diseaselike rheumatoid arthritis , dermatitis , and Crohns disease .
Chronic inflammation also has been linked to heart disease 3 In fact, its likely that most disease has some form of inflammation as a root cause.
Even when your immune system is working correctly, inflammation can create reactions in your body, like making you feel fatigued or generally ill, and it may cause a fever if your immune system is working hard to create defensive cells. In rare cases, inflammation can result in complications like sepsis or blood poisoning, which can be fatal.
