Were only using half of a medium banana and the banana flavor isnt pronounced in this recipe, so Id recommend giving it a shot before you skip the banana entirely.
If you try it and can taste the banana, try freezing the banana first AND/OR using an under-ripe banana.

Our basic smoothie recipe calls for four simple ingredients:
Frozen blueberries For the best blueberry smoothie, use frozen blueberries! Frozen berries make the smoothie extra creamy. I especially love the frozen wild blueberries found in the freezer section of most grocery stores.
Can I use fresh blueberries? Yes, of course. Frozen blueberries blend into a creamier smoothie, but fresh berries will still work. You might find that the smoothie thickens as it sits a bit more than usual with fresh berries since they naturally have pectin, which is a thickener. Freezing can reduce the natural jelling effect of pectin, which is why this does not happen as often when the smoothie is made with frozen blueberries.
Banana I use one banana to make one large or two smaller smoothies. For the best tasting smoothie, use a ripe banana. For the creamiest smoothie, use frozen banana slices .
Half an orange When I have oranges in the house, I love adding them to my morning smoothie. It adds extra vitamin C and tropical flavor. If you dont have oranges on hand, dont worry, you can substitute other fruits like mango, pineapple or more berries.
Milk To help the ingredients blend, I like adding some liquid to the blender. For a smoothie without milk, use water. It still tastes amazing. For more creaminess use milk .
To make the smoothie, I add everything into a blender, and then blend until smooth. For an icy cold smoothie, throw in a handful of ice or use frozen fruits.

How To Make My Blueberry Smoothie
In the blender jar, add all ingredients starting with milk first.
Blend until smooth and uniform in consistency.
TIP: If it is too thick, you can add a little more milk and blend again. You want the blender to create a kind of cyclone effect where the smoothie consistently moves while the blender is on.
Pour in serving glasses and top with some blueberries, fresh mint and serve. Enjoy!

2. Now add the blueberries in a blender jar. Frozen berries work brilliantly, if you do not have fresh berries.
I always freeze blueberries and strawberries so that I can have a stock of them when they are not in season. Many times I have made smoothies and shakes with frozen blueberries.
3. Add 1 cup of lite coconut milk which has a thin to medium consistency . I also suggest that you add 6 to 7 wheatgrass strands for an extra boost of nutrients and lovely, slightly earthy flavor.
You could add your choice of any nut milk or even dairy milk or opt for a plant based yogurt or dairy yogurt.
TIP: In place of wheat grass, sub with 1 to 2 teaspoons of wheat grass powder or add about 1 tablespoon of protein powder. When I have fresh or homemade frozen spinach, I add some of the leaves to this smoothie.
4. Add ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract, or 1 to 2 drops of vanilla essence. Vanilla extract is less processed and therefore has a stronger vanilla falvor.
