How To Make A Strawberry Greek Yogurt Smoothie
First, start by washing your strawberries and removing the stems. After that, place them in a large freezer bag.
Next, put the bag of fruit into your freezer overnight or for at least 2-3 hours so the berries can freeze.
Then, place the frozen strawberries, Greek yogurt, honey, and almond milk into a large counter-top blender.
Alternatively, if you have a food processor, you could use that as well.
Now, pulse the ingredients until theyre smooth and creamy.
Personally, I recommend using a spoon to do a taste test. Add more honey, if needed and pulse once more to blend everything.

Tips For The Best Fruit Smoothie
The frozen fruit in this easy smoothie recipe can be substituted with fresh fruit, if desired. Youll need to add a handful of ice, though. If berries are in season, you can buy them fresh and freeze them the night before!
Also, feel free to switch out the other ingredients as you see fit. Play around with the yogurt flavor you use, or use plain yogurt and sweeten with a little honey or maple syrup instead.
And any non-dairy milk from Silk would pair nicely with the flavors of this smoothie, so dont feel like you have to limit yourself to cashew milk.
What Should I Add To My Smoothie
While this creamy strawberry blueberry banana smoothie is plenty good as is, there are some fun add ins to try! These options either add flavor or health benefits to your smoothie so get creative and experiment to find what you like.
Flaxseed / Chia Seeds: Both are great sources of healthy fats and fiber with minimal flavor. Id suggest blending the flaxseeds into the actual smoothie and then sprinkling the chia seeds overtop, almost like sprinkles!
Hemp Seeds: Another great source of healthy fats and plant based protein too. You can blend these into the smoothie or sprinkle on top, either way theyre super easy to add!
Protein Powder While I personally dont use protein powder you can certainly add it to this smoothie. Just adjust the flavor as needed and find the balance that works for you. Suggestions from friends of mine who use protein powder include: Nuzest and Aloha, both are plant based / vegan too!
Nut Butter I looove to add peanut, almond, or cashew butter to my smoothies for extra thickness + flavor. You could use any nut / seed butter that youd like, my personal favorite for this smoothie is peanut butter though because its almost like a PB & J smoothie?!
Spinach If you want an extra boost, add some spinach. Id suggest starting with 1/4 cup and tasting along the way, the sweetness from the fruit should cover up the flavor of the spinach. Also, the smoothie color may change to a muted brown instead of purple so keep that in mind.

Personalizing The Smoothie Recipe
A banana smoothie with yogurt is the perfect base if youre someone who loves a protein shake in the morning. Add the required amount of protein powder to this smoothie recipe, and it should work out pretty well. You may need to alter the amount of milk if it is too thick or too runny.
You can always add more fruits into this smoothie for more flavor. Its also a great way to add a bit of color to the drink. Personally, I love this drink without any changes.

All 8 of my kids love this smoothie recipe. They really do. I have one that hates smoothies. Fruit scares him and he even admitted that he likes this yogurt strawberry banana smoothie.
It was so good, my Dakota had to finish the leftovers straight out of the blender. I would say this is definitely a winner!

Now if a Vitamix isnt in your budget, then I recommend a Waring professional blender. They are going to get the job done. Now they are not as great as a Vitamix, but they are the next best for a much more reasonable cost. Amazon has several Waring blenders on sale right now.

How To Make A Fruit Smoothie
To make this frozen fruit and yogurt smoothie, youll need frozen mixed berries , Silk Strawberry Dairy-Free Yogurt, and Silk Unsweetened Cashewmilk. Add the frozen fruit smoothie ingredients into a blender, but reserve half of the cashew milk.
Blend the smoothie ingredients until smooth, and pour in the remaining cashew milk slowly until desired consistency is reached. For a thicker fruit and yogurt smoothie, add less cashew milk. And for a thinner smoothie, add a little more.
This healthy fruit smoothie can be frozen for up to one month . When youre ready to enjoy the prepped smoothie, let it rest on the counter for 30 minutes before enjoying.

Below are some of my favorite high water content fruits and vegetables to add to smoothies.
My personal favorites to add are cucumber , apples , and citrus fruits.
Pineapple, peaches, oranges, and lemons are all bursting with juiciness and great for replacing the liquid in smoothies.
Here are the steps that I take when making a smoothie without milk or yogurt:
Add liquid or liquid fruits and vegetables to the blender FIRST.
blend until smooth.
Add remaining ingredients and blend again until smooth.
Depending on the strength of your blender, you can skip step 2 and just mix all of the ingredients at once.
However, sometimes I find it helpful to blend the liquid parts first in order for the blender to handle the frozen fruit well.

I love using frozen fruit when possible to get a smooth and creamy texture.
Those are the three essential ingredient types for making a green smoothie. Then you can addmore flavor, more sweetness, more texture, or more nutritional value with all kinds of added ingredients. This includes seeds, protein powders, natural sweeteners, nuts or nut butters, oils or spices.
Place all in ingredients in a blender and blend until its smooth with no chunks of leafy greens or fruits.
Dont forget to taste it! Here, you can decide if your green smoothie needs a sweetener, if its too thick or not cold enough or if it needs any extra ingredients. Some common adjustments I make are adding honey if the fruit wasnt ripe enough, adding lemon juice to cut the bitterness of some greens, or adding cinnamon to give it a warm flavor.
