Making The Iced Coffee Protein Shake
As I said before this is my go-to for something quick. And I mean QUICK. This shake comes together in 2 minutes, and is really as simple as pour, stir, sip. The components of the shake are:
- Ice. Duh. Just 3 cubes or so you dont want them to water it down as they melt. If you like your coffee strong, freeze some coffee in an ice cube tray and use those as your cubes. This way, as they melt, your coffee gets stronger instead of getting watered down.
- Iced coffee/cold brew. I really like Starbucks Blonde Roast, as its super mild, but Ive made this shake with La Colombe Iced Coffee, Trader Joes brand, and iced coffee that Ive made myself.
- Unsweetened almond milk. I use about 3-4 tbsp, which is 0 WW points. You can use any milk you want and itll be delicious Ive made this with oat milk, regular milk, Nutpods dairy free creamer , etc.
- Premier Protein Shake. I use Cafe Latte flavor, which I buy at Target and get shipped . I also make this shake with the chocolate and cookies and cream flavors when I want to mix it up. There are a ton of different flavors, so play around with what you like. I use 1/2 of the shake, which is 1 WW SP.
- Fat free Reddi Wip, which is 0 SP for 2 tbsp. I use this to top it off and add a little creaminess.
I pour it all of the liquids into the glass, use a reusable metal straw to stir it all together, and top with the whipped cream. The shake is 1 WW SP of pure morning bliss.
How Much Protein Is In It
You can always add more protein ingredients to boost the protein, but as is, you will be getting at least15g protein per Simple Chocolate Protein Shake adding more is totally up to you. I usually add an extra scoop of unsweetened protein powder, adding about ten more grams of protein.
Just be careful adding more sweetened protein powder because it will increase the sweetness too much if you are not careful.

When Should You Drink Protein Shakes
I prefer to drink my protein shake after I exercise. Thats because I want that source of protein to help my body build and maintain muscle mass. Im typically hungry also, so a quick-to-make shake is the best thing to curb my hunger pains fast.
But if you like to drink your protein shake before you head to the gym or out for a walk, thats okay as well because you get the energy you need to complete your exercise goal.
You want to spread out your protein intake throughout the day for optimum results, so as long as you are getting what you need, when you drink the shake is up to you.

Youre probably wondering what kind of protein powder I used, so Ill solve the mystery for ya. Im using Premier Proteins Whey Powder because it has zero artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners .
The facts: 30g 100% whey protein, 180 calories and 3 g of sugar.
Premier Proteins Whey Powder comes in two flavors: Chocolate Milkshake and Vanilla Milkshake and it can be mixed with water or milk, so its perfect for blending into this delightful strawberry banana protein shake. Your Muscles Will Love This Smoothie
Lets take a closer look at each of the three ingredients that go into making this smoothie in order to see why theyre all such great choices. Starting with ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt, youll be adding a great tasting source of protein . Not only does adding Greek yogurt help to considerably ramp up the protein content of this recipe, but its also an excellent source of probiotics for giving your gut health a boost as well. Research has shown that probiotic intake has been linked with a better immune system response as well as improved metabolic processes. Greek yogurt also provides all of the same great nutrients that regular yogurt provides you, including vitamin B12, calcium, and potassium.
In order to further up the protein content of this recipe, youll also be adding in one scoop of chocolate whey protein powder. As Ive mentioned before, whenever I purchase whey protein, I always make sure to buy whey isolate. Its the purest form of whey available and its a complete protein source. You can get the exact brand of chocolate whey isolate that I use by its made by Isopure and provides 25 grams of protein per serving. It also provides five grams of branched chain amino acids per scoop along with an excellent added blend of vitamins and minerals.

If your life is anything like mine, you are always on the run.
As much as fall is my favorite time of year, it brings with it a pace that can make having the time for good nutrition a challenge.
With school, family commitments, and a busy business, I often find myself tempted to take the easy way out when I’m feeling hangry. Usually, this involves something that is going to feel good in the minute but ultimately leaves my energy levels waning.
I try to meal prep on the weekend, but with two growing boys that eat as if they were training for professional sports, rarely to my efforts last through the week.
The solution? I make sure I’m getting a smoothie, like this Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, every day.
Not just some days.
There simply isn’t an easier way to pack in nutrition. In less than five minutes, I can be enjoying a delicious drink that is loaded with nutrition.
I love how easy it is to add in extras to my smoothie.
Peaches And Cream Protein Smoothie
Whip up a thick, creamy and nutritious Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie in just minutes! With only about 200 calories in each giant serving, it’s a healthy, clean, and satisfying breakfast or snack for summer’s hottest days!
At this time of year, I start almost every single day with a big cold smoothie! It cools me off, it fills me up, and it keeps me going all morning long thanks to plenty of protein! Since this is a low-calorie smoothie on its own, I like to add some granola to the top and eat it with a spoon , or serve a piece of toast with peanut butter on the side.
Need a light snack on the run? It’s good for that too…
Premier Protein Coffee Creamer Swap
If youre a coffee drinker, you may know the coffee itself isnt what packs on the calories, it is the sweetener and creamers that we often add to it. If you arent someone who prefers your coffee black, swapping your creamer for a premier protein shake is a great option. Unlike some protein shakes, Premier Protein® tolerates heat and can be mixed into hot beverages like coffee without splitting. Depending on your flavor preference, this protein hack works great with vanilla, caramel, or chocolate. This is also a great option for patients who utilize shakes for their protein intake but dont care for the level of sweetness. Mixing with bitter coffee helps to cut the sugary sweetness. If youre grabbing coffee at a coffee shop, just ask for your drink with extra room or if they will serve it in a larger cup.

What Can I Add To My Protein Shake To Gain Weight
To gain weight by drinking protein shakes, add ingredients like avocado, nut butter, healthy oils like coconut oil, and extra protein sources like oats. Make sure you have a full-fat milk in there such as dairy milk or coconut milk.
Almond and cashew milk are good for adding in calories, too.
Have 2-3 small protein shakes a day and be sure to focus on healthy foods like whole grains and lean proteins for extra muscle-building power.
Stay away from processed foods they will not help you gain weight in a healthy way. Instead, they can lead to inflammation.
