Can You Make A Smoothie Without Liquid

You might now be wondering if you can make a smoothie without liquid at all.

Once again, the answer is YES!

Just follow the same steps as above, but leaving out the water all together.

I went through a phase for awhile where I ONLY made my smoothies without liquid.

I just loved how thick and flavorful they were and I most often went with a super tropical theme!

My pineapple detox smoothie has no liquid at all and tasted like a tropical frosty!

Fresh pineapple, cucumber, and lemon were the water components, which I added to the blender first.

After that, I added in my frozen fruit, ice, and remaining ingredients and blended until thick and creamy!

Can You Make Smoothies With Milk Instead Of Yogurt

If youre looking for a dairy-free alternative to yogurt in your smoothies, milk is a good option. While yogurt can add creaminess and body to a smoothie, milk will do the same without the tang that yogurt can sometimes impart. If youre using cows milk, whole milk will give your smoothie the richest texture, but you can also use low-fat or skim milk if youre watching your fat intake. Soy milk, almond milk and other plant-based milks are also good options for those who are lactose intolerant or following a vegan diet.

Berry Yogurt Smoothie Ingredients

Berries: It all starts with frozen berries. Any type will do. As you can see, Ive used a mix of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. It was a berry mix that I picked up in the grocery stores freezer section. Any combination works well here. Mix and match your favorites, or use all of one kind if you prefer.

Yogurt: Next, add in your unsweetened non-dairy yogurt of choice. Use plain or vanilla flavored. If using the plain flavor, you may like to add a splash of vanilla extract or ½ teaspoon of ground vanilla to the mixture before mixing.

Banana: To add a banana or not? Ive made this smoothie both ways, with and without a banana, and I must say the one with the banana was the better of the two. I used a room temp banana, which added extra creaminess and made it slightly less icy. It will also add some bulk and extra added nutrition. If you have one on hand, by all means, add it in!

Non-Dairy Milk: Lastly, youll want to add about ½ cup of unsweetened non-dairy milk or water to help get everything moving in the mixer, adding an extra splash or two as needed.

Toppings: Some optional toppings to consider are frozen berries, granola, cocoa nibs, and coconut flakes, to name a few.

Watermelon Smoothie Recipe Without Yogurt

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Lets start by picking the best watermelon. Whether its big or small, a watermelon should be heavy. Look for the yellow spot. This is a sign that watermelons are ripe. Tap the underbelly of the watermelon. A ripe one will have a deep hollow sound. Under-ripe or over-ripe melons will sound dull.
  • Depending on the power of your blender, cut the watermelon into big size pieces. Make sure to remove the seeds. Yes it may be a taxing but totally worth it. But if you like the seeds, you can keep them on there. Pulse the watermelon for 10 to 15 seconds, just to get it going.
  • Add the lime juice and blend until smooth. The tangy lime juice gives a tangy punch and a nice dose of vitamin C.
  • Lastly, add the mint leaves and pulse for 5 seconds. I dont breakdown the leaves too much since all we want is that hint of freshness. Mint leaves aid in good digestion

Green Mango Spinach Smoothie

Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothies Recipe: How to Make It

Smoothies are a great way to ensure that you get your daily dose of vegetables. Blending veggies into a smoothie along with fruit, like mango, can help mask the taste of the spinach.

My fat-free spinach smoothie not only has healthy, green spinach but also has broccoli. This bonus vegetable makes the smoothie even more packed full of vitamins and minerals.

The strong sugar flavor of the mango masks a lot of the potent vegetable flavor. You can use frozen mango to make the drink nice and thick. A scoop of chia seeds and bee pollen adds slight flavor, protein, vitamin c, and antioxidants to the drink.

Here are the ingredients you need to make two servings of delicious, dairy-free green smoothies:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 tsp chia seed

Use your favorite, high-speed blender to puree the ingredients until smooth. You really want to be sure to make this as creamy as possible.

I also like to add a handful of ice cubes to ensure it is perfectly chilled. A little honey will add some natural sugar. Add some pineapple chunks for a more tropical flavor or any of your favorite fruits. A banana will make the drink thicker, too.

I love this smoothie without yogurt or fat when I need a healthy boost of energy. It doesnt have much sugar, not too veggie-packed, and almost no fat. A big healthy cup of smoothie does the body good!

The Right Smoothie Ratios

Start your smoothie with two mugfuls of a liquid base. This can be milk, or a dairy-free alternative such as soya or almond milk, natural or flavoured yogurt, fruit juice, or for a tropical flavoured smoothie, low-fat coconut milk or coconut water. Its important to add the liquid to your blender before adding the fruit, as this will prevent the blade from getting damaged.

Next, add about three quarters of a mug of your chosen fruit. Banana is a great base flavour for any smoothie, and will give you a lovely creamy texture. Other fruits that work well are berries, mango, peaches, plums, nectarines, grated apple or pear, and melon. You may have to add more fruit or liquid, depending on the type of fruit you choose. Play around until you have a texture you like. Add a squeeze of honey, maple syrup or agave syrup if your smoothie needs it, and finally add a few ice cubes to the blender for a thick and frosty smoothie.

Strawberry Smoothie Without Yogurt

I struggle to eat enough fruit! This Strawberry Smoothie Without Yogurt makes it easy peasy to dump 2 servings of fruit in one go.

I love vegetables to death! All of them. They all taste like glory to me. Fruits taste great once I have them in my mouth but for some reason, I hardly ever crave them. Am I the only one?

I had to come up with a way of consuming more fruit and this smoothie made it really easy for me. Im more of a protein-rich green smoothie type o gal.

Just strawberries, which are low in sugar and high in vitamin C would have been great but it made the smoothie super sour.

Smoothies With No Refined Sugar

Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothie Recipe: How to Make Strawberry Banana ...

If your kids are like mine, then they love for their smoothies to be sweet. And while I also tend to lean toward the sweeter smoothie, I dont like to add any kind of refined sugar to what I would consider a healthy breakfast or snack. So what sweetens a smoothie with out refined sugar?

In the case of this greek yogurt strawberry smoothie, the strawberries themselves add a touch of sweetness, but I also use a banana and a small amount of honey. This gives a nice mellow sweetness without being overpowering.

This strawberry smoothie recipe could certainly be adapted to whatever you happen to have in your fridge. By all means, toss in a handful of spinach, which will alter the color, but not greatly affect the taste.

One of my kids favorite smoothies, which weve been making for years, is our Leprechaun Milk. And while it clearly has a spring theme, it is delicious any time of year. Spinach, bananas, and peanut butter combine perfectly in Leprechaun Milk to create a fun and tasty green drink. Thats just another quick breakfast option for you busy folks out there!
