- Fresh Almond Milk 1 cup
- Blueberries 1 cup
Everybody can benefit more plant based nutrition in their diets and almond milk is a great alternative to traditional milk. Lets Prepare Almond Milk first.
You need to soak one cup of raw preferable organic almond in some cold filtered water. Its better to soak it for one to two days in water. Be aware, once almonds have soaked, they will absorb some of that water and they will get really plump. We need to drain out the soaking liquid and get the almonds in the blender. Now make sure of keeping this in proportion, every one cup of almond needs four cups of water. Blend it for a minute and a half until all the almonds have broken and you can see a nice light creamy almond milk. After blending, filter it with a nice cheesecloth and press all the milk out of the almond juice.

- Add liquids first: Add almond milk to help with pureeing. If you add frozen fruit first, your blender will struggle and cavitate.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend: Banana, flaxseed or chia seeds and frozen strawberries on top is the best order so frozen fruit doesnt get stuck. And of course, high speed blender like Vitamix or Blendtec or Ninja will blend smoothie into better consistency without chunks.

Well, it depends on what you put in them! The benefit of smoothies is that you are using the whole fruit and/or vegetable so you get the fiber and all the nutrition that the particular fruits/vegetables you are using contain. Unlike juice where the juice is squeezed from the fruit/vegetable and you lose all the fiber and some nutritional value as well.
If you use fruits, vegetables and a healthy liquid base then your smoothie will be healthy. If you add sugar or use a juice base, your smoothie won’t be as healthy.
Your smoothie is only as healthy as the ingredients you put into it!

- This smoothie recipe can be served to babies and toddlers of all ages. Just omit the added sweetener if desired for your kiddo.
- Add a few raw cauliflower florets to add a veggie.

This will help make sure the blender works the best that it can, and has easy access to the liquid of the recipe.
If you do not have a high speed blender, you may need to add more milk to make it not as thick so that the blender can handle mixing the smoothie up.
If you dont care about thickness, you can make this more easily by splashing in some extra milk to help the blender out.
