How To Freeze Avocados:
Avocados, too, tend to go from ripe to overripe within a day or two. When theres a sale on avocados, I buy what I can to have them for smoothies later.
To freeze avocados, just peel and dice into cubes. On a lined baking sheet, place the cubes on the sheet without overcrowding. Once they are frozen, transfer to a resealable plastic bag and store in the freezer for 4 to 6 months.

Comparing Two Smoothie Delivery Subscriptions
Im not much of a breakfast eater. Ever since I was a teenager, it just hasnt really been my thing. Part of the reason stems from the fact that Im about as far from a morning person as youll find. But I also dont like feeling weighed down first thing in the morning by a big meal. On days when do need a healthy meal first thing in the morning, smoothies have become a go-to breakfast option for me. Theyre light, refreshing, healthy, and nutritious and quick. There are several subscriptions out there that specialize in smoothies, and I thought it might be helpful to look at two of them side-by-side: Daily Harvest and SmoothieBox. Both will help you skip the grocery store by sending the frozen ingredients you need to make smoothies in a snap , but theyre far from identical. Today, Im going to do a deep dive to compare what these smoothie delivery services have in common and examine how theyre different. Hopefully, by the end, youll be able to identify which one is right for you!
Daily Harvest Chia Parfaits Review
I was pleasantly surprised by the chia parfaits. I have made chia pudding on my own but didnt really like it. The Chocolate Protein + Banana was really yummy and filling.
I divided it in half and had it for breakfast for two days. I havent tried the other flavor but Im looking forward to trying it soon!

What Is Daily Harvest
Daily Harvest is a subscription meal prep provider, similar to Blue Apron or Sun Harvest. They deliver freezer-safe smoothie cups to your home , which you then fill with milk, blend in your home blender, and pour back into their disposable cup. We think the concept is great but along with other meal prep companiesthe price tag is just beyond what most of us are able to fit in our budget.
Skipping Weeks Changing Orders And Canceling
Customers can skip or delay deliveries up to 8 weeks in advance. A person can skip an unlimited number of deliveries for no charge.
Pausing orders is also possible, and the company saves the persons account. Pausing prevents deliveries and billing until the person chooses to resume their subscription.
Customers can also cancel at any time. This deletes the persons account, so they will have to make a new one if they want to use the service again.
People can change, skip, pause, or cancel a delivery before 6 p.m. on the Sunday before their box is scheduled to ship. After this time, Daily Harvest will ship the delivery and send a bill.
People change their orders through their account on the Daily Harvest website.
The Daily Harvest meal service can be a good option for people interested in dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan foods. The majority of recipes are also soy-free, apart from a few that use fermented soy products, such as miso and tamari.
People can filter their choices on the app according to their dietary preferences.

Daily Harvest Harvest Bowls Review
The Cauliflower Rice + Pesto is my favorite harvest bowl, although I truthfully havent tried many of the harvest bowls.
Legumes dont really agree with my stomach very well, and many of the harvest bowls have legumes. I also find that the harvest bowls arent very filling on their own. I prefer adding chicken to them, and I feel like it defeats the purpose of the convenience.
How Does It Work
- First, choose how many items to deliver either weekly or monthly, whichever is better for you and your lifestyle!
- But what if you dont want the same items each time? Each delivery is completely flexible and allows you to add items, change box sizes or even skip deliveries.
- With more than 90 options, there truly is something for everyone! Were talking smoothies, oat bowls, flatbreads and more.

Daily Harvest Latte Reviews
I LOVE the Daily Harvest Lattes. They make me feel like Im drinking a fancy coffee shop latte from the convenience of my own home.
They take about 2 minutes to make, and are really delicious. My favorite is the chaga + chocolate but I also love the ginger + turmeric.
Something to note with the lattes, in each cup you get 3 individual single serving pods. So youre really getting 3 drinks out of one cup.
Daily Harvest Scoops Review
I was super impressed with the Daily Harvest Scoops! Theyre healthier, plant based ice cream made from real food ingredients.
The scoops come in 5 different flavors: Salted Caramel, MintChip, Midnight Fudge, Black Sesame and Berry Compote. Theyre all really rich and delicious. My favorites are the midnight fudge and berry!

If youre looking for Daily Harvest Reviews, youve come to the right place. Weve been buying and eating Daily Harvest food since 2017. Its been a life-saver for busy mornings and nights when we just dont have the time to whip up a healthy meal.
We first fell in love with Daily Harvests signature smoothies and a box of these babies is actually our favorite gift to send to new moms and dads. We even stocked up Emily when Bode was born.
Daily Harvest Vs Smoothie Box
Price: Smoothie Box wins. Daily Harvest cups range from $6.99 at the cheapest to $7.99 at the highest. Smoothie Box is only $6/smoothie.
Variety: Daily Harvest wins. DH has much more variety that Smoothie Box.
Nutritional Value: Smoothie Box wins here for me. I love that they have the collagen packets for the smoothies. I normally add my own to Daily Harvest because their smoothies are lacking in protein.
Taste: Tie! Everything Ive tried from both companies is delicious.

Daily Harvest Review + Diy Daily Harvest Mint Cacao Smoothie
In Food & Recipes by Madison MayberryJune 30, 2020
The Bad:-If youre on a budget, cost is definitely the biggest inhibiting factor. Its pricey around $170 for 24 smoothies. If you eat out a lot and this replaces a meal out, its probably not much more expensive or less expensive than eating out, but if youre making smoothies at home its definitely MORE expensive. -There were some flavors I flat out didnt care for. But, as I mentioned above, if you figure out what you do and dont like then you can simply avoid the flavors you dont care for.
So, I guess the question comes down to Would you get another box?
And my answer is yes! but with some modifications. After thinking it over, I really loved the convenience, taste and quality of the smoothies. Some of the flavors are so dang crave-worthy that Ive been eagerly waiting for my next shipment. This time, I edited my box to include nearly exclusively Mint Cacao and Cacao + Avocado smoothies. And Im pretty dang excited about that. While it IS cheaper to make your own at home when you account for the ingredients in each smoothie, its still an investment to make your own at home with all the necessary ingredients.
Because we dont have a money tree in our backyard I decided to make some cuts to other shipments we get regularly in order to make room in the budget for a monthly Daily Harvest Delivery.
Are You Sure This Smoothie Isnt Actually Pudding
No, not exactly. It verges on being a pudding because of its chocolaty creaminess and thickness. If you want to make a pudding instead just leave out the milk. Thats what I did for this Healthy Mint Chocolate Pudding and the result is amazing!
If a non-avocado pudding is more your thing, try this super-rich Vegan Chocolate Pudding. Its easy and sweetened with either coconut sugar or maple, and its also paleo.

Daily Harvest Overnight Oat Reviews
So far the only Daily Harvest overnight oats that Ive tried are the Mulberry + Dragon Fruit. It was really tasty, and super simple to make.
You just need to add almond milk the night before you want to enjoy them, shake it up + heat in the morning!
Overnight oats are very simple to make on your own so I dont regularly add these to my subscription.
Instead I opt for things I cant make at home as easily like the smoothies/lattes.
Daily Harvest Review: A Smoothie Review Worth Reading
Daily Harvest is a meal delivery service that aims to make eating healthy simple by providing frozen ready to blend smoothies, soups, chia parfaits, lattes, overnight oats and harvest bowls. Cups cost $7.99 to $6.99 depending on the plan that you select. They have weekly and monthly options.
I had been interested in trying Daily Harvest for a while to get a better breakfast routine. I have a great high power blender but the extensive prep and clean up that comes with making smoothies had led me to neglect the thing! I figured that Daily Harvest would be a great way to encourage me to use it by streamlining my busy mornings.
When I signed up for Daily Harvest, I opted to pick my smoothies, though they have a nicely curated collection called The Smoothie Edit. They have similar edits for all of their other offerings. Soon after I placed my order, I received my collection of smoothies in a delivery that was frozen on dry ice. The morning that my Daily Harvest haul arrived, I received an email, so I knew it was on the way.
I managed to be home to get the box inside right away, but according to the company website they use enough dry ice that you can leave your shipment on your porch for several hours.
Once I stocked my freezer with my smoothie cups, I could hardly wait for the next morning to give the delicious sounding flavors a try at breakfast time.
