Apple Pie Green Smoothie
This is a really healthy vegetable smoothie recipe that has a very unique taste thanks to the apple pie spices and vanilla. Its one of my favorites to make in the Fall to remind me of apple pie.
Apples are high in fiber, vitamin C and various antioxidants. They are also very filling, with a relatively low calorie content. Studies show that eating apples can have a lot of health benefits .
Load Your Keto Smoothie With More Nutrients
Most people stop at step 3, and thats fine, but you could be adding a ton more nutrients into your Keto diet without spending hours cooking.
Here are some of the nutrients we like to add into our Keto smoothie recipes:
- Brazil nuts – these add lots of texture but also provide much need selenium
- Prebiotic fiber – this is what feeds your good gut bacteria, so make sure you get plenty of this if you want to health your gut.
- Greens – we often dont eat enough green vegetables, which are filled with nutrients. So, add a handful of spinach or kale into your smoothie or else add in some greens powder.
- Collagen powder – this is another gut healing superfood, but if youre trying to stay vegan or vegetarian, then note that collagen is not vegan or vegetarian-friendly.
- Protein powder – you can get whey protein if youre ok with some dairy or go for grass-fed beef protein powder for a great tasting dairy-free alternative.
How To Lose Weight
Most people are under the impression that losing weight just comes down to eating less. Some refer to it as CICO, or calories in/calories out. This means you consume fewer calories than you exert through physical activity and simply existing .
But, theres more to it than that:
- Choose high-quality calories. You also have to take into account the quality of your calories if you want to really thrive. Think about it200 calories of broccoli is going to treat your body differently than 200 calories of candy, so why do people act as if theyre equal? One gives you vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and a feeling of fullness, while the other just spikes your blood sugar.
- Eat whole foods. Processed foods and drinks carry ingredients your body doesnt recognize and cant use, including ingredients that are straight up toxic. Fat protects us from toxins by absorbing them, and it is then stubborn in coming off because it is resolute in doing its job of keeping toxins from metabolizing and harming our bodies.
You can avoid this push-and-pull by simply eating whole, unprocessed foods or foods that are as minimally processed as possible. Whole foods are naturally detoxifying, and once the toxins are gone, your fat cells no longer have a reason to stick around.
Some theorize that foods high in resistant starch actually bind calories, so that you absorb fewer than the food actually contains.

What Is A Detox Smoothie
Detox smoothies are an easy and delicious way to flush your body of toxins and help lose weight fast. They usually contain fresh vegetables and fruit, and can be made with an ordinary kitchen blender or Vitamix machine.

And if you eat processed or fried food you will feel it, youll feel sluggish and bloated. Listen to your body, it will tell you what it wants to eat by how it feels 30-60 minutes after you eat.
If you despise the taste of anything green try starting with baby spinach in all your weight loss smoothies, it has virtually no flavor and will naturally boost your metabolism. You wont even know its in your smoothie, all you will taste is the fruit. As you become accustom to the spinach try swapping half of it for kale or chard, adding more of the new greens and less of the spinach until your taste buds start to enjoy your new food.

Then top with the remaining ingredients and I like lots of ice. Blend until smooth, adding more coconut water if needed to thin, and ice to thicken.
