Nutritional Stats Of A Classic Orange Julius Vs A Homemade Orange Smoothie:
The mall drink is packed with more sugar than a can of soda, and besides having vitamin C from the orange juice it contains, its devoid of nutrients. Its a sugar bomb with no protein and no fiber.
My Healthy Orange Julius Smoothie is made with real fruit, and contains no added sugars the 20 grams it contains come straight from the oranges and banana. Because its made with whole ingredients, it also has a nice dose of fiber, Vitamin A, calcium and iron.

Soursop Juice And Smoothie

The Spruce / Victoria Heydt
With a sweet and sour taste like strawberries and apples mingled together and a creamy texture similar to ripe banana, the soursop is one amazing tropical fruit. Here, it’s combined with coconut, pineapple, banana, ginger, and a few kale leaves for an ultra-flavorful blended beverage that will transport you to the Caribbean.

Coconut Raspberry Crush Smoothie
The Spruce / Leah Maroney
With a flirty name and a fresh fruity and tropical flavor, not to mention a bright pink hue, this refreshing smoothie has got it all going on. While it will remind you of summer days, you can whip it up easily at any time of year with frozen raspberries, a little OJ, and canned coconut milk to make it super-creamy.
Notes On The Ingredients
With only 4 ingredients , this smoothie can be whipped up at pretty much any time of the year.
- Pineapples adds body, fibre and a burst of freshness to the smoothie. I recommend using fresh pineapples over canned. You could also use frozen pineapples. Pineapples are an excellent of vitamin C.
- Fresh Spinach This may be swapped with kale if desired, but spinach is my #1 choice for this because of how well it blends together. It also gives it that beautiful green colour. They both offer ample amounts of Vitamin K, Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
- Chopped Bananas Bananas in this smoothie help to keep you full and add a natural sweetness, so you dont need to add any sugar to this smoothie. As we all know about bananas, theyre high in, say it with me Potassium!
- Fresh Orange Juice This also adds a touch of sweetness to the smoothie. I recommend choosing oranges that are more on the sweet side than tart. Oranges are also a great source of vitamin C. You can choose to juice them freshly or buy orange juice.

Do I Need To Use Frozen Bananas In This Smoothie
No, you do not need to use frozen bananas in this smoothie recipe. I love peeling my brown bananas and throwing them in my freezer for use in smoothies later. When I use frozen brown bananas I eliminate banana waste, eliminate the need to add extra sweetener to my smoothies, and I can eliminate the need to add ice to my smoothies. Basically, frozen bananas are the best for smoothies!

Ingredients In This Strawberry Orange Banana Smoothie Recipe
Youll need just 4 simple ingredients to make this dairy free strawberry orange banana smoothie:
- Frozen strawberries: I recommend using frozen strawberries instead of fresh so that you dont need to add additional ice cubes.
- Banana: feel free to use a fresh or frozen one to naturally sweeten this smoothie.
- Orange: theres no orange juice concentrate in this recipe, just one fresh orange packed with vitamin C.
- Almond milk: to help get the right consistency and keep the smoothie vegan & dairy free. You can use any milk youd like but I like to use almond or cashew milk. For a tropical twist, try coconut milk.
- Toppings: I love topping this smoothie with fresh banana or strawberry slices! Feel free to add granola or even unsweetened coconut flakes, too. Yum!
Dont like bananas? You can easily swap 1 cup frozen pineapple for a delicious, tropical flavor!
Smoothie With Orange Juice And Berries
A vegan and fruity pick me up, perfect for any time of day
Many people turn to smoothies when they are trying to lose weight, or eat healthier, or feel better about the 3 pieces of bougatsa they had the night before. We get it, and thats okay. But were here to tell you that theres another reason to enjoy smoothies because they are delicious! And, they are a fun way to get some fruits, veggies and other goodies into people who may otherwise be less inclined to welcome them into their diet.
Were looking forward to sharing several of our favourite smoothie creations with you in the coming weeks. First up, weve got something very straightforward, and very simple. This is a perfect recipe to start with if you havent yet blended into the smoothie crowd .
We actually first shared this recipe as part of our Nativity Fast Meal Plans additional recipes. Because it uses orange juice as the liquid base, along with some frozen berries and maple syrup as the sweetener, this smoothie is naturally vegan. If you dont really care about these things, you can always sweeten your smoothie with honey instead of maple syrup.

Are Oranges Good In Smoothies
I didnt start using whole oranges in smoothies until I got a Vitamix. That thing will blend just about anything into a smooth texture. Since I use the oranges fresh and not frozen in this smoothie, it will also work in a regular blender.
Fresh oranges add a ton of sweetness and a tart flavor that I love to smoothies so although this fruit is often overlooked at smoothie bars, it shouldnt be!
What Is In The Orange

The Jamba Juice Orange-A-Peel Smoothie ingredients are bananas, strawberries, orange juice, vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt, and crushed ice.
Bananas Bananas are very healthy, readily available, and one of the least expensive fruits you can buy. They have relatively few calories, are rich in nutrients such as vitamin C and potassium, are full of potent antioxidants including flavonoids and animes, and are high in dietary fiber. Studies have shown that bananas can improve insulin sensitivity and may improve kidney health.
Strawberries Strawberries are a flavorful staple of many healthy smoothies and shakes. They are an excellent source of several important antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds including pelargonidin, ellagic acid, ellagitannins, and procyanidins. Strawberries are widely known to decrease the risk of heart disease, help regulate blood sugar, and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
Orange Juice Oranges are the most popular of all citrus fruits. They are absolutely packed with vitamin C and provide significant amounts of the flavonoids hesperidin and naringenin as well as carotenoids beta-cryptoxanthin and lycopene. Oranges promote healthy immune function, boost heart health, and have been shown to prevent anemia.

Packed With Vitamin C
With a family of six kids, it feels like if one gets sick, EVERYONE gets sick. During sick season we try especially hard to wash hands consistently, and do things to keep our immune systems in good shape.
One of those things is making sure were taking in healthy vitaminsespecially Vitamin C! An easy way to do that is drinking those Emergen-C packets you can buy from the store, but honestly theyre kind of gross, and Id rather just drink lots of orange juice!
To jazz things up a bit, I made an orange juice smoothie using all sorts of yummy goodies that would not only taste good but would also have lots of Vitamin C. I was surprised at how good it turned out, and the kids loved it too!
Tips For Making The Best Smoothie
- Make sure all the ingredients are fresh from the fridge or freezer and make your smoothie to order.
- Use a strong blender and start on the lowest setting until the fruit begins to break down.
- Blend for about a minute, stopping halfway through to give the blender a shake.
- If the blueberry smoothie seems too thick, you can add a little more Florida OJ until it reaches your perfect consistency.
Share this recipe with a friend who might need a wellness break or make extra and surprise someone! Even though National OJ Day is May 4th, you can celebrate all week long! Also visit www.floridajuice.comfor more great FLOJ recipes.

What Can You Put In A Frozen Fruit Smoothie
When I first made this smoothie, it reminded me of one of those smoothies I used to guzzle down after school. The smoothie shop shall rename nameless, but lets just say it was LOADED with sugar, condensed juice, and commercial dairy. Oh dang!
Fast forward 25 years later and my smoothie making days have changed and for the better. Were focusing on making smoothies with just real deal ingredients. Which in actuality, also saves us money! Winning at life all around here folks.
Lets dissect this Immunity Boosting Frozen Fruit Smoothie a little more, shall we?
- Fresh Orange Juice Natural sweetener and loaded with of course VITAMIN C. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, which means it dissolves in water. Whats not absorbed with then leaves the body through the urine. You know what that means? > YOU NEED a continuous supply of Vitamin C in your diet. But not a whole lot at once. Make sense?
- BONUS> Research has found that loading up on Vitamin C may actually help shorten the length of time youre sick and reduce symptoms.

How To Make Orange Julius At Home
An Orange Julius is just a frothy vanilla-orange smoothie. When I was a kid, my mom would make them for us at home by using concentrated orange juice, and blending it with ice and vanilla. Thats where I got the idea for this easy Orange Julius recipe.
The one from the mall is light and creamy, so I like to add either almond milk or coconut milk. I also find that using whey protein isolate, in addition to giving it a protein kick to make it more satiating, gives it that frothy and light texture.

So Fresh And So Easy And Full Of Vitamin C
You can rest assured that if you make this smoothie recipe for your kids, youll be giving them plenty of the essential nutrients that they need to grow up strong and healthy. This recipe offers a ton of vitamin C as youll be starting things off by adding two small oranges and six ounces of no sugar added, 100% pure frozen orange juice. Id recommend using the frozen juice option if you just want to make this smoothie as quickly as possible but if you dont mind a few extra steps, its even better when made with your own freshly squeezed orange juice. I use a Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor whenever I juice my fruits and veggies, and its definitely an easy product to recommend. Its super easy to use and even easier to clean you can get one for yourself by clicking here.
Along with the orange ingredients, youll also need to add in one cup of frozen ripe peaches. I absolutely love the taste of peaches in general, so including them in this recipe was a no-brainer. Peaches are a rich source of all kinds of vitamins and minerals, including providing even more vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. In addition, both the peels and the flesh of peaches have been found to be incredibly potent sources of disease-fighting antioxidants. Peaches are definitely everything that you could want from a smoothie ingredient, as theyre truly both delicious and nutritious.

Florida Oj And Blueberry Smoothie
Celebrate National OJ Day on May 4th with a delicious and refreshing smoothie made with Florida OJ, frozen blueberries and vanilla yogurt!
No one can deny that times have been strange for all of us this past year. Im a firm believer in following my routine every day, but I had to adapt and find a new way to move forward and still enjoy each day. Even with the changes, I still found that one thing I had to include in my new day-to-day routine was to actually find time to stop and take a break.
It didnt need to be an hour lunch or a complete shut down from a screen or in my case the kitchen, just 5 or 10 minutes was enough to slow down and recharge for my own sanity and well-being. I found that instead of reaching for my typical snacks, which mostly provide unsustainable energy to be honest, I enjoyed making a fresh smoothie.
This simple version with only three ingredients really hit the spot and kept me going until lunchtime. Made with Florida Orange Juice, frozen blueberries and low-fat vanilla yogurt, it was perfect not only for me but also for my kids!
National OJ Day is May 4th, so make sure you have some Florida OJ on hand and reward yourself with a break during your day to reap the wellness benefits from Florida OJ.
